“Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature -- the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter.”

Happy birthday to this little guy who wanted to change the world—but didn’t know if he could.
Take it from me, it’s damn worth trying. 😉

So many lessons from my friend @nhannahjones, this morning.
Go where you are embraced, celebrated, valued and supported.
Go where you don’t have to fight for people to see your brilliance.
And, avoid spaces if they barely tolerate you, even if they’re familiar and beloved.

You want to thank Black women?
Cancel student debt -- all of it.
Black women carry more student debt than any other group in America.
Save your words of appreciation. Policy is our love language.

Hundreds of thousands of DC residents had to endure a coup in their backyard today, go into curfew at 6pm, and fear for their personal safety. None of them have any representation in Congress.

With new votes joining the tally, we are on a strong path. But even while we wait for more, let’s celebrate the extraordinary organizers, volunteers, canvassers & tireless groups that haven’t stopped going since Nov. Across our state, we roared. A few miles to go...but well done!

THIS.
Instead of blaming the base that consistently delivers electoral victories Dem leadership needs to listen to Black organizers and voters.

I was on a trial team with Marc and it was easily one of the highlights of my legal career. He gives his all for his clients and pushes his team to do the same—and his work on this election is no different. Thank you, Marc and the entire political law team at @PerkinsCoieLLP.

Statement from Asbury United Methodist Church, whose parishioners woke up this morning to images of Proud Boys tearing down their #BlackLivesMatter signs & literally burning them in the streets.

It's not enough to just send Donald Trump packing, or even just to repair the damage he’s done.
We’ve got to unrig and rebuild the systems that made his rise possible to begin with, and that allowed his administration to hurt so many people in so many ways.

People need to really look at the communities who delivered these miraculous victories in AZ, GA, MI, MN, etc. They are rarely a focus of traditional political investment or electoral strategy,& are often sacrificed in policy negotiations.
One “thank you” would be changing that.
