Im Ibrahim sang as she harvested in the groves her family has tended for generations, but that she hasn’t visited since Oct. 7th for fear of settler attacks.

At the UN Security Council, @AzizAbuSarah made an urgent call for Palestinian elections.
Civil society has spent decades developing leaders and ideas for peace. Following the postponement, we amplify their call for democratic elections to turn those ideas to political change.

We and our colleagues visited Lod with @Abraham_Ints to hear residents’ experiences and explore the challenges and opportunities of life in "mixed cities." Thanks to municipal representative Elvira Kolikhman for briefing us on your efforts to promote inclusive municipal policies.

Canada, alongside Australia, France and the United Kingdom, expresses deep regret over the postponement of Palestinian elections until September 2027. Nearly two decades have passed since the last Palestinian Legislative Council elections, leaving an entire generation without the opportunity to elect its representatives.
We call on the Palestinian Authority to reconsider this decision and to take the necessary steps to hold legislative and presidential elections, without further delay.
The blatant racism is not incidental. Israeli soldiers’ statements expose a system that denies Palestinians access to their land.
ALLMEP member @rabbis4HR stands with Palestinian farmers as settlers, backed by soldiers, attack the olive harvest. This, too, is peacebuilding.
As prospects for a 2-state solution are eroded on the ground, this cross-party statement matters.
Protecting Palestinian rights and livelihoods must transcend political divides. ALLMEP members are standing with Pal farmers, turning this principle into action.

Proud to be John's partner and even more - his friend 🕊
Pleased to join @FrancoisF24 and the @F24Debate this week. To discuss the elephant in room— that every person on earth sees as Israel’s most pressing concern— but is not being addressed in these Israeli elections. And the necessity of Israeli-Palestinian civil society engagement

40 yrs ago, an int'l fund began seeding a deep & sturdy peace from the ground up in N. Ireland. Gary Mason of @Rethinkingconf1 saw its critical role & writes in @JewishChron on how the coming Int'l Fund for Isr-Pal peace can reshape the landscape.

Can't wait to read Maya Savir's book -- the latest in a growing collection of sharp, relevant, & pragmatic books by peacebuilders offering a new frame on what got us here & vision on the way forward. Maya is a leading voice & partner in the field at @allmep member @SFCG_.
Maya Savir turns the black-hole conversation about Israel-Palestine into an informed, nuanced conversation about the possibility of reconciliation. Her latest book, On Reconciliation, can be found here: plough.com/books/on-reconcil…
Thank you @jnbarrot for once again prioritizing peacebuilders, and for understanding their importance in diplomacy.
Especially those like @YonatanZeigen who has paid a steeper price than most for a conflict he has now dedicated his life toward ending

Today, we honour the victims of the Hamas massacre of #7October. That one day in history changed Israel profoundly. The war that followed brought devastation to Gaza on a scale that will shape Palestinians for years. While the dead deserve remembrance, the living deserve a future. In my op-ed for @TheNationalNews, I argue that grief has no nationality, and that neither Israelis nor Palestinians can afford a return to the cycle that has repeatedly produced war, insecurity and loss. thenationalnews.com/opinion/…
Vivian Silver, killed on Oct 7, was a peace activist, member of our founding board, and co-founder of @WomenWagePeace & @AJEEC_NISPED.
Her son @YonatanZeigen is now a peace activist.
"My mother fell silent on that day, and I feel like I found a new voice"
Listen to Yonatan.
Three years ago today, Oct 7 showed with devastating clarity where an unresolved conflict can lead.
Peacebuilding has grown. @JohnLyndon_ , Leyla Alsheikh & Maya Savir argue Europe should give civil society a permanent place in diplomacy. @PCFForg @SFCG_ rapporteur.com/opinion/europ…

In 2024 G7 committed to institutionalise civil society’s role in I/P.
Nothing about them, without them.
France & @jnbarrot led on implementation.
Diplomacy needs a ground game.
Civil society needs a diplomatic horizon.
Both, *together*, = new approach that meets this moment
We're grateful to French FM @jnbarrot for championing Israeli & Palestinian civil society and ALLMEP members so consistently, incl. at UNGA 2026 roundtable: “Without you, there would probably not have been a peace plan endorsed by resolution 2803 of the Security Council.”

On 7 October, @maozinon lost his parents in the Hamas attacks.
Palestinian peacebuilder @AzizAbuSarah reached out to him in his grief.
Together, they chose to refuse vengeance. At the UN, they shared their belief in peace, justice and equality.
