helping founders find momentum. dropping new experiments at junastar

Vancouver/Singapore, let's go!

notes from this week... - Interviewed 5 founders/business owners. Three were struggling with AI transformation. The major areas = shared context and workflows. Nothing was sticking, which sounds like a skills and adoption problem, not a tooling one. - The other two were trying to scale GTM: one with zero paid customers, the other with early pilots but no PMF or clear ICP. Growth dollars exist after understanding customers, positioning, and dialing in product. - Four of the five felt behind on AI adoption. They want to go deeper but have no idea how to budget for it. “What token formula per employee should we use?” - Friends who code for a living aren’t writing code by hand anymore. They review, and change what needs changing. - All my builder friends are diverging on the word “focus.” Some are doubling down on the AI spray and pray game. Going wide, building literally anything and everything. Others are killing every sidequest to pour everything into one product / business... to be a missionary !!

ai kills the idea maze and the stress tests that happen in the 0 to 1 process the idea maze gets built and refined subconsciously when you write the prd, the deck, the 1 page north star doc, the wireframe, the db schema etc when you skip those, you sometimes you get lucky.. a lot of the time ai takes you down the wrong maze
It feels a bit like we’re entering an era of the “0 → 0 paradox” Jumping straight into code can feel like you’re pushing from 0 → 1 faster, but the lack of design thinking can set you further back than where you started Modals everywhere, complex flows, overly/under branded

Singapore haze is getting ridiculous. 😷 This was taken by a friend at Marina Bay this afternoon. MBS and the Singapore Flyer are barely visible. 24-hour PSI: 107–146 (Unhealthy) PM2.5: up to 195 µg/m³ today.

We're going to look back at how much time people spent learning to use software and wonder why we thought that was normal.

Google Alerts but for your own ideas being market ready
need some sort of deep dive research vault. easily spent more than 50% of my tokens this week on research and PRDs.. that ended up going abso nowhere.. killing them at PRD and DD stage.. which is all good, but the shelf life on industry and new idea SWOTs and competitive DD is shrinking from a year thing, to months, to weeks.. so this vault needs to schedule re-checks and trigger a 'market is ready' alert

My apparently-hot take is that we don’t need bots that sound and look like humans. I want Alexa/Siri et al to be intelligent, but stilted robot speech is fine. I want to know when I’m talking to an AI.
