The nightingale Nayyara Noor (1950-2022) croons a fabled ghazal of Behzad Lakhnavi "aye jazba-e-dil agar main chahun, har chez muqabil aa jaye". Contrary to the reign of Saree-donning ghazal-gayaks, she appeared simple & sublime as was her singing, devoid of classical nakhre.

I love the exquisite opening credits of Merchant-Ivory's BOMBAY TALKIE (1970), in which the names of cast and crew members are lovingly shown in the style of painted film posters. Accompanied by a dreamy score from the legendary composer duo Shankar–Jaikishan.

Now the Caretaker Government is at it again. There's talk of an Ordinance being tabled for the same purpose. Leaving everything aside, how's this caretaker mandate? And how's this deserving of an Ordinance? We don't intend to give up our legal struggle! tltpnews.com/nepra-withdraws…
