Another one of crypto's fantastic journalists is looking for a new role - please support and share widely!
Sad to share I have been let go from The Block.
It’s been a great two years working with some of the best journalists in crypto media. I’m proud of the stories I wrote, the edits I made and the people I got to know. I wish the team all the best as the company tries to rightsize. It’s been a difficult time for crypto media, with many worthy competitors cutting back or closing down entirely — but if any firm could weather the storm, it is likely The Block.
This could not have come at a worse time. My wife and I are expecting a baby girl next month and we just closed on an apartment.
If you know of any role in media, research, content or otherwise that could use a strong writer/editor with deep crypto knowledge, experience breaking and shaping stories under deadline, and a track record of thriving in fast-moving newsrooms as well as putting together long-term editorial packages, I’d be grateful to hear about it. Happy to share clips or chat.

DeFi just had its biggest stress test of the year. $292M exploit, $10B+ in withdrawals from Aave, and what happened?
No regulator intervened. No bailout committee. Competing protocols — Aave, Lido, EtherFi, Golem — coordinated a recovery in days.
This is not a failure story. This is an immune system response from infrastructure that actually works as designed.
The real lesson: the problem was bridge infrastructure (1-of-1 DVN config), not DeFi architecture. The answer is better engineering, not more gatekeepers.

❌Do not engage if you receive a similar email.
✅Do check in with a PR (in-house, agency or fren) when a journalist reaches out, before getting excited. #cryptohelp #CryptoNews #journorequest
