Interesting meeting with HRH Umar Kyari Umar El-Kanemi, the Shehu of Bama, Borno State of 🇳🇬 today at a get-together hosted by the Amb. of🇨🇭Patrick Egloff at the Swiss Residence. Discussions ranged from security issues, capacity building to cooperation in media & films. Resilience and success of the Nigerian people is better understood after having deep interactions like the one today with Nigerians from different walks of life.

Nigeria is sitting on a cinematic goldmine.
Imagine a high-budget movie/series adaptation of Ruwan Bagaja, Shehu Umar, and Magana Jari Ce (1–3) stories that shaped our childhood, values, and imagination.
This isn’t nostalgia. It’s cultural preservation, global storytelling, and soft power.
Africa doesn’t lack stories.
We lack investment in our classics.
These three were chosen because they are the backbone of Hausa literature: Ruwan Bagaja captures our imagination and moral adventure, Shehu Umar reflects our history and resilience, and Magana Jari Ce preserves our proverbs, philosophy, and the brilliance of our oral tradition. Together, they form the foundation of our cultural memory and deserve to be brought to life on screen.@AminuSaira @alinuhu @Rahma_sadau @the_davidatta @BashirAhmaad
