Normalising #microRNA in fecal specimens is challenging due to the limited availability of endogenous normalizers.
In our recent study, we conducted a systematic evaluation of potential endogenous normalizers for fecal microRNA analysis. We demonstrated the significant impact of blood contamination and identified promising alternative candidates for reliable normalization.

Alongside Helicobacter pylori, #Fusobacterium nucleatum is among the most clinically relevant bacteria linked to carcinogenesis.
In our recent review, we focus on their roles in driving clinical outcomes and patient prognosis.

Little is still known about fungi-gut interactions. Check out our recent work using a unique cohort of twins to characterize these potential dynamics and interactions! 🔬🧬
Key findings:
📈 Greater heterogeneity than bacteria
🦠 Candida & Geotrichum dominate
🧬 Independent of host zygosity, aging, & environment
🔄 Negative correlations between dominant bacterial & fungal genera

Predicting #HCC recurrence after liver transplantation remains a major clinical challenge.
In our latest proof-of-principle study, we demonstrate that #microRNA signatures from primary HCC tumor tissues are linked to recurrence risk post-LTX.
