This is fun.
Last January, I noticed something peculiar in my 2yo’s bedroom that - after a year of obsessive reporting - led me to a profound cosmic revelation about what’s even possible in our universe. A 🧵.

Today a cyclist coming fast thru a red traffic light at King'sX almost hit us on a green-lit zebra crossing. Again. @SantanderCycles @limebike @dott_uk @tier_mobility @humanforest_uk pls make sure your users know bikes have to obey traffic laws. Ppl will be hurt & you'll be sued

This is sensible, straightforward & really should be entirely uncontentious. Covid is airborne. Masks help reduce the risk of visitors & staff infecting patients & each other at a time of immense NHS pressures. Masks, while cases are so high, make good sense.

In the supermarket an old lady was sitting in the vegetable racks, quite composed, ignored by everyone. Did she want a hand? Yes; she'd fallen & couldn't get up. A hand later, off she went. I don't know how long she'd been there. Pls don't ignore oddities or be afraid to help but

don't assume, and never, ever grab. Please ask first and listen to the answer - this woman may have been old and frail, but she knew her own mind and what she needed. Helping has to be a respectful transaction, or it's not help, it's interference.

Absolutely beautiful shepherd's warning this morning, through the filthy windows of a train. With luck the weather to come will sort that too...

This is horrifying and not at all surprising. Inequalities worsen for gem people and when they're GEM and disabled it seems society just stops caring, and barely starts to help.

Disabled people tend to be flexible, resourcesful, inventive, persistent and adaptable. We have to be, in a world designed by and for abled people. Employing us can only benefit your company, for a few reasonable accomodations that won't break you. youtube.com/watch?v=8U2W-tA_…

Please, Londoners, if you love your kids, get them vaccinated asap. Measles can kill them. My sister and I almost died of it; I still suffer the after-effects. This is not a drill 'London at risk of major measles outbreak, UK Health Security Agency warns' theguardian.com/society/2023…

This is a genius thread which should be retweeted as a public service every couple of months. Yes, it's old; yes, it's still 100% relevant and accurate. @WEP_UK
I’m a mother of six, and a Mormon. I have a good understanding of arguments surrounding abortion, religious and otherwise. I've been listening to men grandstand about women's reproductive rights, and I'm convinced men actually have zero interest in stopping abortion. Here's why…

Worth noting the 'researcher' is one of the foremost advocates of the psych theory of ME, so is desperate to disprove NICE. Her reputation's at stake. Objectivity much @guardiannews? Chronic fatigue guidance discouraging exercise is flawed, say researchers theguardian.com/society/2023…

You can think abortion should have term limits. You can think - if you really want - that being in lockdown, scared, alone and with several kids to care for aren’t mitigating factors. But if you want her imprisoned for it, may I suggest you just like the idea of punishing women.

Totally agree with @ErinSandersNP about exercise in #LongCovid #MECFS and vaccine injury: if patients get #PEM from even walking short distances, it is clear that underlying physiological processes are causing pathology. No amount of “pushing through” will help and is dangerous – at South Africa
Replying to @ErinSandersNP
2/ The reason so many patients are wary of exercise is multi focal, but namely that a lot of us were highly active before getting sick & learned through thousands of trial + error attempts that exertion generally makes us worse. And sometimes we never recovered to prior baseline.
