Directors and VPs discovering Claude Artifacts is hitting engineering teams like crack in the 80s
The possibilities are endless. This was under an hour of research and about another hour building up the initial pipeline. It’s not pretty, but it shows what’s possible.
Expected latency on the input stream would be under 10s. Made use of Lucy Restyle models.

I’ve been using it for ~2 hours and I’m absolutely blown away at how I could automate a bunch of my workflows. Cursor team built a way for “normies” to automate stuff. Feels like an OpenClaw 2.0 moment.
(Zero affiliation, I upgraded to Ultra to use it and absolutely worth it.)
As someone who is in this role right now, leading an org during this era of tech is challenging.
Ways of working are fundamentally shifting, expectations from stakeholders are changing, but the role feels like it’s not evolving with the changes.
Many CTOs have moved back to more IC-centric roles as Anthropic MTS etc to be closer to industry change.
There's a ton here that has made the position challenging - interestingly some of the pressure is now bottom-up.
Engineering teams diving into AI in various ways - then working with teams to standardise/drive RFCs, budgets, making sure that teams are working on the right thing instead of the "easy thing" not that AI can help etc.

ShinyHunters compromised Canvas (to a currently unknown extent) which resulted in a "this system has been compromised" to over 9,000 universities.
As ridiculous as that sounds, I'm not memeing. It has been speculated it is actually over 9,000 universities.
ShinyHunters is having their ALPHV moment. They're now going to get attention at a serious scale outside of the information security circle.
The @Instructure /Canvas hack is absolutely mental. So many learning institutions affected worldwide due to how widely-used it is.

My god love seeing a well-respected person share this view with me
RLS was a mistake and folks exposing that level of complexity to less technical users is asking for trouble.
It was a mistake in Firebase. It’s a mistake in Supabase. It will be a mistake in the next product too.
I personally - even knowing how to secure it - would never touch it. It’s the worst security footgun you can imagine. One small mistake and your data is available to the world.

before ai, everyone used to complain about the averageness of most developers. if you give them a tool to supercharge their output, they are not magically going to write better code. quality is still going to be uncommon
