again, i'll defend this. she can have her own opinions. the outrage here is the side getting criticized (republicans). had she sided with them, they'd praise her and the democrats would be pissed. and that's how polarizing the US is. way to unite us, trump.

Sony is desperate and forcing people to update in order to combat the recent jailbreaks. crazy turn of events and it was all set off by them choosing to obliterate physical media.
PS5 users are reporting that some physical games are asking for a system update before they can be played.
Several players have shown their consoles asking for an update when they try to launch games from a disc.
This is really concerning about physical games becoming dependent on PS5 firmware updates, even when players already own the disc.
mentality issue?! Sony had lost licenses to some movies and had to pull it from peoples' libraries. if they can give customers digital ownership, then cutting physical media is more agreeable. not to mention the digital monopoly they'll have with the prices.
this ain't new. going back to the psp days, newer games required newer firmware to play. one obvious reason is they're combatting the jailbreak. so gamers have to make the decision to either have jailbroken features and free games or new games and online play.
Sony is now asking PS5 players on firmware 14.00 to update to 14.10 if they want to use PSN.
Players who stayed on 14.00 to keep the possibility of a future jailbreak are now being asked to update before they can sign in.
And it’s not just PSN. Some players who stayed on 14.00 are now finding that newer games, like Dune: Awakening, won’t even let them play without updating.

the fall off has been happening. the digital push was just icing on the cake. PS5 barely has any true exclusives. it's mostly games from PS4 upscaled/remastered. expect PS6 to be bad. GTA 6 might've saved Sony with the digital controversy. but one game won't save PS6.

damn this reminds me of the old psp days. jailbreaking it and installing cfw. it wasn't just about free games, but being about to control and customize any part of the system to your liking.
A new PS5 jailbreak has just dropped, and apparently the PS5 Pro is vulnerable too.
The new 13.60 Relapse jailbreak works on PS5 firmware from 7.00 all the way up to 13.60. The exploit was found a few weeks ago, but this new version gets around some of the restrictions from the original.
The people behind it claim that pretty much every PS5 can now be jailbroken, except consoles that were updated within the last week or so.
Sony is probably not going to be very happy about this one.
what's the point in asking now? they already pulled the trigger. if they walk back the decision, they'll look like a bunch of bitches. since they're not changing anything, again, what's the point?

simply asking DoB is actually fine by me. it's when they push further for gov ID. it doesn't matter if they get that info later via payment methods. but to restrict access completely is wrong. this issue is the faults of lazy parents and companies kowtowing to them.

We are competing with AI companies that can buy these cards in bulk, making an already expensive GPU even harder to get.
