My client has 5 albums out on Spotify and Apple Music. He’s been making music his whole life and played in bands for years. But as an independent artist, the music never paid the bills.... So he worked as a firefighter in Alaska. When he retired from firefighting, he hired me to help market his music online. We built his website and did his branding. All his music went on there so fans could buy it directly. And we started growing his social media. Then one day he calls me. “Alex, I keep seeing all this AI stuff online. Could we make a music video for one of my songs?” He told me it had always been his dream. But back then a music video meant hiring a whole production crew, which was a sh*t load of money. No chance for an independent artist. I’d never made one. But I knew it was possible. So we gave it a go with Claude and Higgsfield... Something that was out of reach his whole life now takes us about a week... We’ve made 5 up to now and working on the 6th. I can’t describe what it’s like watching a guy who ran into burning buildings in Alaska get emotional every time we finish one (Some behind-the-scenes footage in his studio)

Every 60k account posting generic crap like “you just need to start” got there in 2022 doing 50 replies a day and trading likes with 30 other accounts. Don’t be fooled. Plenty of smaller accounts on here write better than the big ones.

Your offer can be a bit sh*t and still sell. No traffic, though? Enjoy the cold DMs.

Nobody shadowbanned the post. 150 people saw it and none of them cared. Took me 2 years to admit it...

Get in a taxi and don’t tell the driver where you’re going. You’ll end up somewhere... just probably not where you wanted. That’s AI with no context. Tell it where you’re going first!

Half my feed is people with 300 followers teaching people with 200 followers how to get to 10,000.

you'd think by now I'd have this figured out... still rewrite a tweet 5 times before I post it. still get nervous before sales calls. still feel like a fraud when someone calls me an expert. post it anyway. take the call anyway. take the work anyway. do it with the doubts, they’re not going anywhere.

Six years ago I told a buddy to quit the coding course he'd just paid $6000 for. I had no clue what AI would turn into. I was just building websites on squarespace and figured, if I can do this without code, why spend six grand learning it? Just a gut feeling about where things were going. This year I ended up building a piece of software for one of my clients. Un-freaking-imaginable to me a few years ago. Software was for smart engineer type dudes. Not me. I've never been the sharpest tool in the shed by any means, lol. Most people still only use AI to ask it questions. That's about 2% of what it can do. In the last month alone I've used it to: - rebuild my website with Claude instead of continuing to pay Squarespace - catch mistakes in my accounts my accountant missed - plan a whole week abroad in 10 minutes. Cheapest flights, best restaurants, where to stay. Oh, and that buddy with the coding course? He's back in his sales job.

Not trying every new AI tool won’t leave you behind. Switching to a new one every 4 days will.

Freelancing’s fine. Charging people for something Claude can do in 5 minutes isn’t.

A few hundred of the right followers will pay your rent. 50k of the wrong ones won’t buy you a coffee.

Job titles are made up. $20k a month isn’t.

13 years. 9 businesses. Most of them went to sh*t. Here's 4 things that would've saved me a decade: > Get a job first. Preferably a sales job. Ignore anyone telling you to start a business straight out of school or uni. Dumbest thing you can do. You've got no experience, and you're not going to make any money. > Learn ONE high income skill, NOT seven... Sales, ghostwriting, video editing, paid ads. Pick one and get disgustingly good at it. > Stop thinking you can do everything from behind a screen. Get out the house. Events, meetups, solo dinners at nice places where you'll meet people. Learn to hold a conversation and practise networking. > Have a relentless sense of urgency. The older you get, the quicker time goes. Blink and you're 30 wondering where the f*ck your twenties went. Ask me how I know. I'm 33.
