I don’t think I’ve ever seen a team so committed to a quarterback having a bad night as Baylor was tonight. Bennett deserved a chance in the second half. I can’t believe we wasted the crowd tonight.
Today is World Cerebral Palsy Day! remember those of us with CP are the true movers and shakers of the world! :)
It’s Gameday! I asked AI to create a mascot for me cheering for my favorite team based on what it could find out about me…needless to say I was shocked! :)

I’m at the Baylor football game…just got through watching a video of Baylor football players being baptized while the crowd sang amazing Grace along with John Crowder there really is no place like Baylor
As many of you know the T Rex is my spirit animal (we’re both a little short-handed! 🙂 )…..what a great way to end the first week of school. Holly, a former student and now dear friend, made me a Baylor T Rex. I love it so much!
Yesterday marked my 36 year of teaching seminary students, August marked my 35 year as the director of the Texas Baptist Historical Collection and 41 with the TBHC and this is my 27 year at Truett….I’m just getting started :)
What an awesome two days! Helped with Move2BU, attended dedication of the new BSM at Baylor, spoke to Chalk Bluff BC about Women in Baptist History, spoke to new Truett students about the history of the seminary and had a group of new students from Truett out to our house

Be ready to bring your appetite for @BUFootball game day.
The almost annual gathering of the Association of Women Who Prepared Alan for Sara. Years may go by but when we’re together we’re never old!
You know it’s a Saturday morning in July in Texas when you’re mowing the lawn at 7 AM and you’re not the only one in the neighborhood doing it
Sara was looking at inflatable back supports to use while flying. She said “I could get this one and get on the plane and blow it up” I said you REALLY need to finish that sentence….
On this date in Baptist history 140 years ago, the Baptist General Convention of Texas was formed. 41 years ago Sara and I were married. Both events occurred at the First Baptist Church of Waco, Texas. The more you know. :)
I had the opportunity to preach at Tallowood Baptist Church this morning. What a joy it was to be among extended family, friends and former students. One of the best parts of my job is getting to the “substitute” preacher at churches around the state! I love my job!
As Director of the TBHC over the last 35 years I’ve had countless opportunities to celebrate significant dates with churches across Texas. Today I got to be part of the 175th celebration at MY church, FBC Waco. When FBC was formed, Texas was 15 years old and the US was only 75!
