Understanding what ingredients make a program effective is key to move knowledge fwd. Though our intervention was more than a nudge, it maybe wan't intense enough. Further research into scaleable, cost-effective solutions to this complex issue is needed. Here's our contribution.
Null results push us forward!
We partnered with @RESCUEorg, @LSHTM, & @poverty_action to reduce corporal punishment in Tanzanian schools.
Though the intervention didn't have the intended effect, it broadens the picture of what works & what doesn't.

Though you don't set out to get a null result when designing an intervention, I'm so proud of what this multi-org team contributed to the larger knowledge base around what works to reduce violence in schools. @aledefilippo

First time externally sharing findings from this project with fantastic collaborators, using WhatsApp chatbots to support young South African women navigate unhealthy relationships and develop more protective attitudes. More to come!

There’s plenty more where that came from. Come celebrate our 10 year anniversary at bi.team/bit10

Happy birthday to us! It's really remarkable how our work and, more broadly, the BI field has changed and matured over the last decade. We are now applying BI in more diverse contexts & for increasingly more complex policy challenges -- it's such an honor to be a part of it 🎉
