Off to Glasgow for #EANO2024. Excited to present some of our work on lipid metabolism in #braintumors. Also proud of @ale__samma , who was selected to present his work on breast cancer brain metastasis during the Poster Pitches Session @EANOassociation @MGH_RI @MGHNeurology
Excited to share our latest work where we tested the effect of a brain-penetrant clinical-stage inhibitor of fatty acid desaturation on cancer and immune cells in breast cancer brain metastasis mouse models. @BadRlab @katharinaeyme

Pharmacological inhibition of SCD decreased engagement of immunosuppressive pathways, including the PD-1:PD-L1/PD-L2 and PVR/TIGIT axes in the tumor microenvironment.
Inhibition of SCD enhanced antigen presentation by dendritic cells, was associated with a higher interferon signaling, increased the infiltration of cytotoxic T cells, and decreased the proportion of exhausted T cells and regulatory T cells in the tumor microenvironment.
Pharmacological inhibition of SCD markedly reshaped the lipidome of breast cancer cells and resulted in endoplasmic reticulum stress, DNA damage, loss of DNA damage repair, and cytotoxicity.
I've decided to join the TEXAS MS 150, a fundraising 150-mile bike ride that changes the world for people affected by Multiple Sclerosis.

We are so thrilled to see our work published in @ScienceTM on a new therapeutic strategy that inhibits de novo lipid synthesis to treat glioblastoma. Thanks to @BadRlab, @katharinaeyme and co-authors. Also, many thanks to @AICF_nyc for their support.
Very excited to share our latest work now out in @ScienceTM on targeting #lipidmetabolism in #glioblastoma
Great team effort led by @katharinaeyme @ale__samma with other past/present lab members and our collaborators at @Yumanitytx and @UCLA
