this quote from Carl Jung is truly great: "The world is full of people suffering from the effects of their own unlived life. They become bitter, critical, or rigid, not because the world is cruel to them, but because they have betrayed their own inner possibilities. The artist who never makes art becomes cynical about those who do. 1/2

When I cleared out my mum's cottage, I found a lot of old Coronation St scripts. They're nothing fancy but if anyone would like a page or two for a memento, I'd be happy to mail a few out. No charge, obviously. I'll follow back to the first five replies and you can DM an address.

Richard O'Sullivan - another TV legend lost. Apart from Man About The House and Robin's Nest, this was a favourite from Saturday early evenings.

Everybody follow Lake Ontario
I was given my name by the Iroquois Nation many hundreds of years ago. By 1660 my name was printed on maps by the Europeans as they accepted the Native name which means Beautiful waters. In 1867 the Canadian government decided to use my name for their providence.

Love this. 💔❤️
Remembering the late, great Dolly, who brought joy, comfort and inspiration to so many - including the millions of children given free books through her Imagination Library. We will always ❤️ you.

🚨 BRITAIN IS IMPORTING MORE EGGS FROM HENS KEPT IN CAGES WE BANNED HERE LookoLook at what has happened to UK egg 🥚 imports. In the first 5 months of: 🥚 2024: 0.1m dozen shell eggs came from outside the EU 🥚 2025: 6.9m dozen 🥚 2026: 11.5m dozen @Poultry_Network says Ukraine 🇺🇦 is by far the largest non-EU supplier, accounting for 9.3m dozen of those imports in the first 5 months of this year. And here’s the bit consumers need to understand. Most Ukrainian eggs are produced by hens kept in conventional cages 🔥 a system that has been banned in Britain and the EU since 2012. Picture it. We tell a British egg farmer: ❌ You cannot keep your hens in those cages. ✅ Invest in higher-welfare systems. ✅ Carry the additional British production costs. Then we open the door to millions of imported eggs produced using the very cages we prohibited British farmers from using. And much of this food disappears into catering and food manufacturing, where consumers may have little idea about its origin or production system. Now UKHSA is investigating a Salmonella outbreak involving 207 confirmed cases, 38% hospitalised and one death, which may be linked to imported eggs. There is currently no evidence British-produced eggs are affected. We do not yet know which country produced the eggs suspected in that outbreak. But Britain’s rapidly increasing dependence on eggs produced to standards we would not accept on British farms demands scrutiny. Don’t ban British farmers from producing food one way and then import the same food produced that way somewhere else. 🇬🇧 Food security. Food safety. Food standards. They are all connected. @andyburnham @labourlewis @fionaharvey
🚨 One dead. Hundreds sick. 38% hospitalised. UKHSA is investigating a Salmonella outbreak involving 207 confirmed cases which may be linked to imported eggs. The Food Standards Agency says: “There is no evidence that UK-produced eggs are affected.” And where were the suspected imported eggs mainly being used? Restaurants, cafés and catering establishments. The Brexit promise to escape EU regulations always meant dangerously lower food standards. Traceability and border controls protect the public. Consumers cannot Buy British when they aren’t even told the origin of ingredients used in the food they are served. Brexit Britain has weaker import controls and we have pursued cheaper global food imports. This is destroying food security and putting lives at risk. Food security means food safety too. We should be strengthening British food production and demanding robust equivalence and verification from imports, not treating food regulation as an inconvenience to trade.

I have seen parents absolutely broken by the fight to get support for their disabled children. Endless delays, no school place, tribunals just to access rights their child already has. To call that a "racket" isn't brave truth-telling. It's a profound lack of empathy.
Isabel Oakeshott just called help for children with disabilities in Britain an “absolute racket.” She says parents are over diagnosing their own children just to grab perks and benefits. Easy for her, living the high life in Dubai while TalkTV hands her a free platform. This is pure sneer at the mums and dads who fight every single day for their kids’ basic needs. Disabled children are not a scam. This makes my heart bleed as I have seen families with disabled children and understand their daily struggles!

love the way you dont even know the different schemes. You were in charge of the ACRS scheme at the Home Office that did NO vetting and let in 20k plus . MoD ARAP was for those that helped Defence and Security and was fully backed by Nigel Farage and Richard Tice! ARAP did vet and it was in trying to vet that the data leak took place.

When Boris Johnson became PM, he went straight on holiday, extended it, and skipped critical COBRA meetings during a rising pandemic. Funny how the media didn't seem to care about Boris's holidays back then. 🤔
