Aretha helped define the American experience. In her voice, we could feel our history, all of it and in every shade—our power and our pain, our darkness and our light, our quest for redemption and our hard-won respect. May the Queen of Soul rest in eternal peace.

I've loved all the album's nominated for the Best Large Jazz Ensemble for the 2018 Grammy Awards, but would really love to see @alanferber get the win for his excellent album Jigsaw.

17 years ago I met @ShoshanaBean. 1 year ago we started making a record. Today the first single is out, and it's a song we wrote together on the eve of the recording session. I'm as proud of this project as anything I've ever done. You gotta hear her...!
Was happy to work closely with @ShoshanaBean & @davidcookmusic on this record, arranging a lotta horns. She's an insanely great singer. Comes out Fri. xitter.cf/davidcookmusic/status/… – at California, USA
