AKURE HAS LOST AN ILLUSTRIOUS SON WHOSE LEGACY WILL ENDURE — FALAE
The APM Senatorial Candidate for Ondo Central Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections, Hon. Sunday Oludare Falae, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Pa Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti, the revered Afenifere leader and elder statesman, who died on October 20, 2026, at the age of 100.
During a condolence visit to the deceased's residence in Fiwasaye, Akure, Hon. Falae described Pa Fasoranti's death as a great loss to Akure, Ondo State and Nigeria, noting that his contributions to the community and the nation would be remembered for generations to come.
He described the late elder statesman as a man of integrity, forthrightness and discipline, whose enduring contributions to education and public life earned him widespread respect.
Hon. Falae noted that Pa Fasoranti's wisdom, fatherly counsel and influence would be greatly missed by his community and beyond. He extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the people of Akure and the Government and people of Ondo State.
He prayed that Almighty God would grant the entire Fasoranti family the strength and fortitude to bear the loss of their patriarch, and grant the departed elder statesman eternal rest.

NAFDAC Uncovers Suspected Counterfeit Alcoholic Drinks Factory in Aba
NAFDAC has uncovered a suspected counterfeit alcoholic drinks production facility at No. 25 Omenazu Street, Aba, Abia State.
Acting on credible intelligence, officials discovered the facility operating in unhygienic conditions. The suspected operator reportedly fled upon the team’s arrival, abandoning a vehicle in which counterfeit packaging materials bearing the names of Sir Edwards Scotch Whisky and Scottish Hills Whisky, empty bottles and a drum containing approximately 200 litres of liquid were found.
Inside the facility, officials found counterfeit packaging materials, bottle caps, sealing machines, empty bottles, cartons, tanks containing various liquid concoctions and dirty sieves reportedly used in the production process. Plastic buckets and 200-litre drums containing ethanol and tree bark immersed in ethanol were also discovered, raising serious concerns about the safety and quality of the products being produced.
The estimated value of the equipment, materials and facility components is over ₦500 million. The Agency urges members of the public to provide credible information on suspected illegal manufacturing activities to the NAFDAC Call Centre on 0800-1-623322 or 0700-1-623322, or email [email protected].

He is a natural giver- before he thinks of joining politics, he has helped many people. He has made great impacts that simplify his campaign today. This is a fact that can be vetted. It is easy for such person to use our money for us. This is a minus on the incumbent, and a major reason why he must be booted out.
Sunday is one of us- he is always in the midst of the people. He knows our pains, and where our shoes pinch us. He is not an Akure diaspora who got elected on a platter of gold, and turned himself to our master. We need to let him know that we, and not him, are the master. Let's collectively show him the exit door.
This upcoming elections offer us a great opportunity to make elected officials who assume in their minds that the people do not matter pay for their arrogance, and disrespectful disposition to the electors.
