Breaking! #NicoleVirzi took a plea deal to avoid the death penalty. Virzi has been ordered to serve a minimum of 35 years and a maximum of 80 years in state prison. Personally, I think this monster should never see the light of day.

Unbelieveable. Officials were unable to carry out the execution of Christa Gail Pike, witnesses said, after the lethal injection was administered. Pike appeared to receive 2 doses of pentobarbital, and she was still awake 40 minutes after. Pike is now en route to the hosptial.
Christa Pike’s execution for the 1995 murder of Colleen Slemmer is back on after a SCOTUS decision just overturned a last-minute ruling by a lower court to stop it. Execution was scheduled for 10am today, but was delayed last minute. Will now happen by midnight.

According to Pike’s attorney, Christa Pike has been administered two syringes of the lethal injection drug, and is still alive.
Attorneys are seeking an emergency stay from the TN Supreme Court.

The family of Celeste Rivas Hernandez has now publicly stated that they support the death penalty for #D4vd if he is convicted.
The DA charged special-circumstance allegations, making the death penalty an option, and prosecutors have publicly stated multiple times they can prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt. I hope prosecutors honor the family’s wishes.
California currently has a moratorium on executions, but a death sentence would still carry enormous symbolic importance. It would likely delay the start of the trial considerably, but in my opinion, it would be worth it. #CelesteRivasHernandez
