This #GlobalEncryptionDay, find out why smart glasses might not be such a smart idea. proton.me/blog/smart-glasses…

Meta’s smart glasses open door to new levels of facial surveillance | Proton

Students modified smart glasses to find someone’s personal data after just looking at them. This is why we must minimize data collection.

I love seeing more players within the open-source physics engine for robotics. I'll finally give Mujoco a try (Bullet and Dart user).

We’ve acquired the MuJoCo physics simulator (mujoco.org) and are making it free for all, to support research everywhere. MuJoCo is a fast, powerful, easy-to-use, and soon to be open-source simulation tool, designed for robotics research: dpmd.ai/mujoco-blog

Wondering if @coppeliaRobotic @GazeboSim would plan to add Mujoco as a physics engine?

If you need to interpolate rotations across space or time, there are much better options than Euler angles. Here, rotations at the four corners are interpolated via the exp/log map. Want to know more? Some exercises: 15462.courses.cs.cmu.edu/fal… & solutions: 15462.courses.cs.cmu.edu/fal…

I'm always impressed by the wide range of problems that can be easily solved by simply using homogeneous coordinates. Such a simple yet powerful tool.

Dead-simple way to find the intersection of two line segments: - Append "1" to each endpoint - Take three cross products - Divide by the 3rd coordinate This works because the 2D lines become 3D planes, & the cross product of the planes' normals gives their line of intersection.
