Opening night of the refurbished Citizens Theatre. What a return. The theatre is beautiful and #SmallActsofLove was moving and excellent in equal measure.

A parachute in the rain this morning. We're working with women in the local community to organise a morning of learning activities for a local nursery in October. Nothing stops the learning hub. #learningforall #EngagedScholarship

Awesome!
Ozzy Osbourne's Crazy Train on a xylophone is proof why every school needs a fully funded music program

Now I know they're off to the Fringe, this is my big recommendation if you're looking for a show that will knock your socks off next month. Every last member of the cast is fabulous. Share Share Share
Geez a Break Productions' When We Were Young is "funny as hell, but heartbreakingly real" ★★★★ (tinyurl.com/2p4kn5bf)

At 10 and 11, my sister and I delivered 40 papers a night, six nights a week. Our papers were delivered to us straight from the factory so all profit was ours. We loved having our own money and still have many happy memories of how we used to spend it. It was the making of us.
There was a time, not so long ago, when an army of boys & girls from 12 years upwards set their alarm clocks for 5.30 a.m. & got dressed, mounted their bikes in all weathers & headed to their local newsagents to carry out their paper round. It was an important introduction to the world of work & to earning dosh for themselves & becoming independent. They are as rare as the rag & bone man now. We will never see their like again.

So, that's it, picture updated and new batch of English teachers for #Oman. The deal on #StrathEdTESOL is that if you make it into the graduation picture, you become my desktop picture for the new academic yr. Good luck to this fabulous gang as they leave us for pastures new.

I haven't quite made it home from work but stopping to look at the view and to breathe in and out for a while is good for the soul.

The children were especially excited to welcome back Miss D and Miss A, two #StrathEdTESOL students who were a huge part of the project. Thank you both for taking the time to join us today. @ajcorrigan

We had a seven year old who asked to join our community class today. She doesn't love school. I've told her to take this into school to show her teacher. We're learning to love learning.

When I left the house this morning at 5am it was lashing with rain, very windy and SO cold. It's still cold but what a difference! 💛

@AvantiWestCoast Kieron Jones could not have done more today to get one of our friends to rehab in Wales after she took the wrong train. Her journey began at 5am and we were tearing our hair out up here in Scotland wondering what would happen next. We are indebted to Kieron. 🌟

❓What’s it like to be a woman in prison? In a special episode of Woman's Hour, @bbcnuala is joined by a panel of women who have firsthand experience behind bars, either as ex-prisoners or as those working with them, to discuss the realities. Listen from 10am ⬇️

Today at our Engaged Scholarship Hub in the East End of Glasgow, we are starting a new community project on The Lungs. We'll focus on science and physical activity when we eventually teach local children, but first, we need to build up our own knowledge.
