Also the y at the end of were
The K-pification of Yoruba words. “Kpẹlẹ” “Kpanla” What the hell do they mean? It’s pẹ̀lẹ́, not “kpẹlẹ.” It’s pàǹlá, not “kpanla.” Not every Yoruba word that begins with p needs an extra k slapped in front of it.

This is weird. Imagine someone opens a similar cinema for only white films, hell will be let loose.

The conversation is knackered as is with most wedding talk. Most Yorubas have diluted traditional wedding practice with the inclusion of Abrahamic rituals. So at the end of the day it’s all just fun & games.
Mrs made a tiktok post that a non Yoruba bride cannot have a Yoruba trad wedding and that those doing it are just cos playing It has ruffled so many feathers 😂

This was such an apt send off for Ogunde
Òkú ń sunkún òkú, Akáṣọlérí ń sunkún ara wọn. In May 1990, during the burial rites of the great Hubert Ogunde, Dr I-Show Pepper (Ishola Ogunsola) led the dirge and procession while the prolific chanter Ogogo (Taiwo Hassan) carried the powerful oríkì and chants that day. I-Show Pepper himself later joined the ancestors on 28 December 1992. The same Ogogo who led those chants for Ogunde died yesterday (23 August 2026) and will be buried today, 24 August 2026, in his hometown Ilaro. Who will now chant for him?

Yeah but did you blast them back?
Lol this “Tony” thing is triggering me. I once called a woman (non-Nigerian, who I met in a professional capacity) by her first name and she had her (Nigerian) husband email me to blast me, that that’s not how I was raised and I should never try it again 🙂
