My sisters were also abandoned by my mother.
My immediate elder sister (our first daughter) became our "mother" from a young age of 11.
And she took care of out father until she got married.
Our mother didn't attend any of our weddings.
When she was about to get married, questions like "won't she abandon her husband like her mother did?" came up.
Her husband did his findings and people told him that a woman who grew up taking care of her father will make a good wife.
They're over 20 years in marriage now.

I am genuinely pained.
We complain about electoral malpractice and compromised institutions, yet when it is time to demand accountability BEFORE an election, everybody suddenly goes quiet.
