Building London's next great riverside neighbourhood starts now.
Today, @MrOkereke signed off the next phase of work at Charlton Riverside. 8,000 new homes. 1,000 jobs. All of it geared towards growth.
Because standing still isn't an option in a housing crisis.

Number 10 North is driving the largest devolution of power to London's communities we've seen in a generation.
By granting London the ability to invest potentially billions of pounds more in our future, it will help unlock transformational infrastructure projects such as the West London Orbital, the Bakerloo line extension and Euston knowledge quarter.
A true devolution revolution.

Two major investments lost in one week under Lewisham’s Green Mayor.
Goldsmiths has quit its Catford campus, days after Landsec dropped its £1.5bn Lewisham Shopping Centre plan.
The Mayor must explain what he did to stop it, and his plan for Catford and central Lewisham.

At Full Council, I welcomed the response to the Woolwich Dockyard estate renewal petition.
No decision has been made. Any proposals will involve consultation and a residents’ ballot.
Residents’ voices always remain at the heart of every decision.

Ex Conservative Prime Minister Harold Macmillan ripped apart Margaret Thatcher's privatisation while she was doing it at a Tory Party conference, "Selling off the family silver" she's is just selling off the nations assets because she has run out of money.

In recent days, we’ve seen investment and homes being blocked by short-sighted populism in London.
We will never let that mindset takeover Greenwich.

On Tuesday, Landsec shelved its £1.5bn plan for Lewisham Shopping Centre.
Today, Goldsmiths has walked away from its planned Catford campus: 600+ students, a 10-year lease, millions of council investment.
The Green Mayor @LiamShrivastava promised hope. Where is it for Catford?

Under the Green Mayor Lewisham has lost a £1.5bn town centre plan.
1,700 homes. A park the size of a Premiership pitch. A music venue. 300+ trees.
Approved under Labour. Shaped by 2,500+ residents.
Landsec says the Greens’ refusal to back the next phase is part of why.

Under the Greens, Lewisham has lost a £1.5bn town centre plan.
1,700 homes, a new park, a music venue and so much more. On a site where nobody lives.
Our group leader, @Ese_Journo, warned the Mayor this would happen. He called her embarrassing.
Lewisham deserves better.

Landsec has pulled out of its £1.5bn investment in Lewisham shopping centre, citing Mayor @LiamShrivastava's Green administration's lack of support.
300+ affordable homes, jobs, a park and a music venue: gone.

👀 A peek inside one of the 452 new council homes we just completed. This 4-bedroom home is part of Kidbrooke Park Road, the biggest new 100% social housing development in the country, with a nursery, play parks, a retail space, over 200 new trees and a green energy centre.🥳
Inside Reform: Councillors and candidates' extreme and racist views on camera

Warning: Distressing and graphic language
An undercover investigation by ITV Exposure into Nigel Farage’s Reform UK has found multiple elected councillors and party candidates expressing racist views and using offensive language.
ITV has obtained secretly recorded footage showing Reform officials from across England and Wales using violent, racist and sexist language.
Councillors Alan Feeney, Chris Whelan and Jamie Campbell did not reply to our request for comment. Councillors Feeney and Whelan have since resigned from Reform UK.
In a statement shared with ITV News, Reform UK said: "Where members, activists and councillors have clearly behaved inappropriately, investigations have commenced. In some cases, there have been suspensions and due process must be followed."
"Reform UK has improved and prioritised its vetting procedures, but from time to time, a handful of individuals who do not share our values will initially make it through vetting. This is the same for all organisations."
