The success of Canada's class system is that people unironically believe stuff like this and never wonder why half of the people who run the country went to two high schools in Toronto.
I really try to resist Canadian exceptionalism talk on here but the fact that a vast majority of Canadians attend secondary and post secondary institutions of basically all the same quality with far less class and status stratification made young adulthood so much better here

Reading proofs from book & remembering what I wrote in 2015: "I am very concerned about the future of AI. Not because of the risk of rogue machines taking over. But because of the homogeneous, one-dimensional group of men who are currently involved in advancing the technology.”

Perfect encapsulation of a mental chasm between boomers & younger gens. Boomers still hold a Star Trek fantasy that freeing yourself from mundane friction is an unqualified good, while it seems willfully stupid to many under 60.
For today's “Pogue’s Posts" column, I tested the new AI Siri. HARD. It missed a few out of my 125 tasks—but some of its triumphs were jaw-dropping. If you can get into the habit of using Siri, you'll do a lot less opening apps, fumbling around, and wasting time. pogueman.substack.com/p/125-…

Addressing this to “everyone in Ontario”, a province that is about 1.5x the size of Texas, kind of suggests this man did not know where the eff he was supposed the be performing. Mississauga is not that complicated! It’s in the Greater Toronto Area & a big city in its own right.

“Man” is a collection of found images where a man is flanked by women on either side. But they’re strategically composed so the men are lost within the binding. Genius work by Erik Kessels and Karen De Mulder.

President Trump demands Canada change its French language, Quebec culture and Canadian identity as a condition for reversing tariffs. This is no longer about a trade deal-it is about a takeover of Canada's sovereignty and identity.
