Over the past year I've had the privilege of working as Director and Lead Artist for Coca-Cola, Google, Amazon, Netflix, LG, and SailGP, among others. Collaborating with world-class studios and agencies on projects at that scale is something I genuinely never take for granted.
FILE 0002/A — STILL. She was twenty-two. Standing at the edge of a lake that had never once moved.
Something pulled her under.
Something that had been waiting specifically for her. For a very long time.
The Archive called it a failed integration.
The Archive has never been more wrong about anything.
THE BLACK ARCHIVE is a science fiction anthology set in the year 2847. Each episode is a FILE, a document drawn from the Archive's own records.
Different timelines. Different characters. One world.
All connected.
We release weekly. Or as close to weekly as cinema allows.
This is the world we're building. One file at a time.

Some projects you can't talk about until the lights come up. Today is that day.
This afternoon at @Cannes_Lions, BETTER Studios premiered "LAST RESORTS", a film, installation, and immersive experience built around the world's first (fictional) climate apocalypse timeshare. A near future where climate stability has quietly become an amenity, and survival has been repackaged as a premium membership.
It's satire. It's also barely a step past the present, which is exactly what makes it land.
For the past few months I've been working on this as Creative Lead Artist with my Illumedia Studio, on the AI team, building out the visual world of Last Resorts shot by shot. Getting to use this toolset in service of a story with something real to say about climate change, alongside a team this talented, is the kind of work I got into this for.
Deep thanks to the people who made it:

THE BLACK ARCHIVE - FILE 3371/A - DESCEND youtu.be/jj_D7aOmFvg?si=Z4ed… via @YouTube in 4K
FILE 3301/A — DESCENT, a new episode of THE BLACK ARCHIVE.
This one introduces Miraline, Subject 4419-F, for the first time. If you've seen FILE 9002/C (VESSEL), you've already heard her name in the Archive's records. This is where you see her.
A cargo vessel. A Ferric escort. A pilot who isn't quite who his uniform says he is. And a fall that ends somewhere the Archive's maps don't go.
These files aren't told in chronological order, deliberately. Each one is a document the Archive pulled from its own records, and the Archive doesn't organize by time. It organizes by classification. Which means the audience assembles the timeline faster than the institution that's supposed to own it.
That's the structure we're building toward, one file at a time, on a weekly cadence.
Written and directed by me and Barbara Tanzini.
Original music and sound design: me and Barbara Tanzini, again!
Produced by invideo, Srishti Tyagi, Ish Mehrotra and Illumedia Studio w/ Luca Ontino, Paola Merlotti and Celeste Zodo
Before the shoulder hardware. Before the Archive had her name. Before any of it.
Renn is 21. She's working in the outer districts. A man walks through the door, old, powerful, decorated with the Archive's gold. He thinks he's choosing her.
He has no idea what just walked into that room.

Proud to share our submission to the Luma Dream Brief 💙
I teamed up with two of the best people I know Simone Bocchino and Jeffrey Limon and together we created two spots, two characters, two worlds, and two endings. One beer.

Massive news: I was commissioned by @xai to create a short film in 2 days using only Grok Imagine 1.0 (stills and video).
So in honor of Groundhog Day, here it is: "Routine" a film about a man in a time loop in suburbia.
Thank you so much to the xAI team and @elonmusk for this opportunity!
If you're an AI video creator, you may notice that I've cracked character consistency in Grok Imagine with this project (check out the kitchen scene). I will do a follow up post explaining exactly how I did that (it was not just prompting).
