At the historic @HotelValleyHo in Scottsdale, I learned about the history of the American West — and discussed its future. As @POTUS drives new investment across America, hospitality will play an even greater role in our economy. @USDOL is working with partners like @AHLA to build the workforce needed and show more Americans how a first job in hospitality can become a lifelong career. 📍Scottsdale, Arizona

Thank you @repdondavis for supporting the #AmericanFranchiseAct, and recognizing the need to preserve and strengthen this important pathway to entrepreneurship. This legislation will protect the more than 1,200 hotel franchisees in North Carolina and support the entrepreneurs, employees, and local communities that depend on them. Franchised hotels support more than 2.8 million jobs, account for nearly 60% of all U.S. hotels, and generate nearly $100 billion in annual economic impact.

North American hospitality is deeply interconnected, and prosperity depends on policies that facilitate cross-border travel. 🧳 On the heels of the 2026 tri-national World Cup games, AHLA joins @hotelassoc and the @HotelesXMexico in calling for a long-term extension of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). A long-term extension of #USMCA will build upon the momentum created by the World Cup by providing the certainty businesses need to invest, strengthen integrated supply chains, support workforce mobility, and keep North America globally competitive as a destination for business and leisure travel. ➡️🔗 Read more: ahla.com/news/international-…

Great news for hoteliers this morning: the American Franchise Act is scheduled to be marked up in the @EdWorkforceCmte next week. Over the last year, so many of our members were personally involved in advocating for this bill, along with our coalition partners. We’ve held hundreds of meetings with Members of Congress and their staff on this legislation which supports our industry and protects the franchise model – a critical pathway to entrepreneurship and the American Dream. This is a significant milestone and a key step to getting this critical piece of legislation enacted into law. As we get one step closer, we want to thank @repkevinhern and @RepDonDavis for their leadership and House Education and Workforce Committee Chairman @RepWalberg for advancing it in his committee.

This week marks an important milestone for the workers and small business owners who are the backbone of America’s hotel industry: the one-year anniversary of the enactment of the "Working Families Tax Cuts Act." For America’s hoteliers, this law spurred billions of capital investment empowering hotels to create more jobs, strengthen operations and invest in their communities.

For thousands of hoteliers, franchising is one of the most accessible pathways to building a business. In the lodging sector alone, franchised hotels support more than 2.8 million jobs, account for nearly 60% of all U.S. hotels, and generate nearly $100 billion in annual economic impact. The #AmericanFranchiseAct will allow local businesses to grow and create more jobs from coast to coast. Congress: support this crucial legislation! 🔗 hubs.ly/Q03JN-9s0 ➡️ @SaveLocalBiz

U.S. House of Representatives Ways & Means Chairman Jason Smith and U.S. Rep. Beth Van Duyne joined AHLA and the Greater Nashville Hospitality Association for a behind-the-scenes look at hotel operations. With the federal tax package becoming law last year, they got an up-close look at how the tax incentives are benefitting the hotel operations and workforce, like 'No Tax on Tips.' AHLA highlighted the economic impact the lodging industry has in Nashville, where hotels generate more than $5 million in tax revenue. Many thanks to @RepBethVanDuyne and Chairman @RepJasonSmith for coming on the tour, and to the the Holston House Nashville team for hosting.
