The global Unmanned Aerial Pesticide Application System Task Force #UAPASTF uapastf.com/ is pleased to share with you the progress on the work to support the use of uncrewed aerial spray systems #UASS or #drones for pesticide applications.
The UAPASTF’s mission is to share resources in the design, evaluation, and development of proprietary data for use in exposure estimates, regulatory drift / off-site movement exposure models, risk assessments, and regulatory decisions to support the development of a regulatory paradigm to better enable UASS-based pesticide applications. This work aligns to the recommendations of the OECD Drone/UASS Subgroup (page 32) oecd.org/content/dam/oecd/en…
With this mission in mind, the UAPASTF is pleased to announce the first-ever data submissions of Good Laboratory Practices #GLP spray drift field trials using UASS to the US @EPA, @GovCanHealth’s Pesticide Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA), Australian @APVMA, and the United Kingdom’s @H_S_E Chemicals Regulation Division (CRD). Additional details can be found in the official announcement: uapastf.com/wp-content/uploa…
The UAPASTF is continuing to work towards its stated goals and is now focused on submission of additional GLP spray drift trials and development of a non-dietary exposure ‘job-steps’ survey; the UAPASTF believes such a survey will help inform occupational / applicator exposure and risk assessments for UASS-based pesticide applications.
Please feel free to share this good news with your network!
Another great @AmerChemSociety meeting in the books! #PrecisionApplication #TargetedApplication #Drones #DigitalLabels and #EndangeredSpeciesAct were just a few of the topics at #ACSFall2025. And most importantly, all of the great conversations, ideas exchanged, and camaraderie. Can’t wait for #ACSFall2026 in Chicago!
Enjoyed #ASABE25 in Toronto! Working with the @ASABEorg crowd is a sure way to meet great people working at the cutting edge of #AgTech, #PrecisionApplication, #DigitalAgriculture, #Drones, and #DigitalPesticideLabels. I was honored to represent the #UAPASTF (aka the Global Drone Task Force) and celebrate our recent submissions of GLP drift data to regulators. One more step forward in laying the groundwork for drone-specific regulations. Looking forward to next year in Indianapolis!
🥒 Too many #cucumbers? Make some #pickles! Thank you loveandlemons.com for the recipe. And #RanchoHovinga gardens for the loot. My first time!
#corn I am SO over people creating these fear-based, non-scientific narratives about food and #pesticides. Quit messing with peoples' minds!! This is not good for #America #science #farmers or our #foodsupply. Thank you @NationalCorn for this helpful perspective.

🌱 Thank you @CropLifeAmerica and @PestFacts for another successful event with the #Regulatory2025 conference! We dove right in with #precisionapplication updates from Adam Barlow discussing the @ASABEorg #targetedapplication standard. We then moved to wonderful break-outs with great presentations from many, including Sierra Riegl, Brittany Wilkerson, Bob Mann, Ian Murphy, and Joel Buettner. The #drones session, with great presentations from Nandita Chowdhury, Travis Bui, Nathan Davis, and Alexander Ryan, showed the progress in this space, including upcoming data submissions from the #UAPASTF and the need for #dronelabellanguage. The #emergingtechnologies session included presentations from Chris Carleton and Andrew Moore highlighted possibilities for data layers to inform #sitespecific applications. Diana Stoyanova led the #digitallabel discussions including US EPA progress and State needs with great panel comments by Dan Schoeff, Michelle Arling, and Lenora Jones. Laura McConnell and I learned about #digitization possibilities from experts Mark Lewis and Eric Neyhard, and got to catch up with FFAR Fellows Program: Future Leaders for Food & Agriculture and National Association of Academies of Science fellow Zachariah Vice. And of course hearing from #EPAOPP about overall agency commitment to #digital, #AI, #ESA, #efficiency and many more topics! Thank you to all for such a successful conference. Working with such a dedicated, caring, talented, and visionary group of people is a pleasure and an honor. See you next year, everyone!

Do you have questions about #drone / #UASS #pesticide applications? We hope this resource, developed by the @CropLifeAmerica Drones Working Group is a good place to start. We’ve collected and referenced the latest information provided by experts on #bestmanagementpractices, #pesticidesafety, initial regulatory guidance, and other considerations for your #spraydrone operation. We also look for your feedback on new information and what else would be helpful in order to keep this site maintained and relevant. Thank you to all of the experts' work here, and to you in advance for checking this out and sharing with others: croplifeamerica.org/croplife…...
This hub is NOT intended to replace label language and/or federal, state, tribal, and/or local regulatory guidance, but rather intends to serve as a central source of information for the pesticide spray drone community.

🥶🌱 #Spring is definitely here at #RanchoHovinga but we still have some cool #California nights (32F), so a quick mini-#greenhouse was in order! Plants are doing well after a couple of chilly nights. 👏 And back from DC just in time for an #amadorwinecountry weekend!
