He’s not wrong that most guys who are starting caliber QBs are not interested in transferring to be a backup, but calling it “impossible” is both factually wrong and unacceptable coming from our HC. The Moore injury/Raiola timing couldn’t be worse for this comment.

On second look I’m less sure this was Dez’s assignment. Ignoring getting burned over the top, they had 2 pass catchers vs 1 defender at the bottom of the field and we had what looks to be 4 (!!!!!) Safeties/LBs hanging out in no man’s land. Only thing that’s 100% sure here is there was a communication breakdown that cannot happen at this level.

Here’s the real problem. There is not a better option at QB on this roster than Marcel Reed. But Marcel Reed is not playing like Marcel Reed can. And there might be a better option on the roster if this is the version of Marcel Reed you’re going to get. So I get why you don’t want to bench him. But you also have to figure out how long you’re supposed to wait for him to snap out of it. Because you wouldn’t accept this product from any other QB.

Having now seen a couple games from our defense this makes a lot more sense now

Based on what I was told last year, this game doesn’t really count because we wanted to lose so we could justify a QB change anyways.
