On the Agent Payments Stack, Frames sits at L1 (Wallet & Key Management) — the layer that decides who signs and under what constraints.

400K+ events processed across agent activity on multiple chains.
Backed by Colosseum.
This isn't a whitepaper. It's live infrastructure with usage behind it.
Supports both x402 and MPP out of the box — so agents can operate across the two leading payment protocols without custom integration for each.
They also run a live tool catalog at frames.ag/tools where agents can discover and pay for capabilities without API keys.
Frames is building the missing piece: programmable wallet infra specifically for AI agents.
Operators create and fund agent wallets, set spend policies, sponsor gas, and authorize which tools the agent can use.
The agent pays. The human controls the rules.
The agent wallet problem isn't custody.
It's policy.
Most setups give an agent a private key and call it done. No spend limits. No action controls. No audit trail.
That's not a wallet. That's raw access.

Programmable wallet infra for AI agents. Spend policies, gas sponsorship, tool authorization — without giving the agent raw key access.
400K+ events. x402 + MPP. Colosseum-backed. Live.

Shoutout to @JordanLyall — CPO @artblocks_io, and the person quietly mapping the entire agent payments ecosystem through @agentpaystack.
162 projects. 6 layers. one of the most useful references in this space right now.
glad we made it onto the map!

x402 won the first lap. MPP is betting the race gets longer.
It's Layer 3 on our Agent Payments Stack:

The honest take: institutional pedigree is real, production track record is not yet. 11 days old, code unaudited, txn volumes unconfirmed.
Building today: x402 for crypto-native stacks. MPP if you need fiat rails or LLM micropayments.
How it compares to x402: both use HTTP 402, both open, both real. x402 has 140M+ txns and 10 months of production hardening. MPP has fiat rails, Sessions for streaming micropayments, and Stripe distribution. They're complementary.
Day-1 services: Anthropic, OpenAI, OpenRouter, Alchemy, Dune, Browserbase, fal.ai, Shopify, Stripe Climate. 100+ total. @SolanaFndn shipped a native MPP SDK.
Visa wrote a card extension. 43 projects built at one hackathon. All within 11 days.
The team: CEO @matthuang co-founded Paradigm, on Stripe's board since 2021. @dwr + @varunsrin co-founded Farcaster. @dankrad (Danksharding) left the Ethereum Foundation to join. Paradigm consolidating its best talent into one bet.
The mechanism: agent calls paid API → HTTP 402 "Payment Required" → pays → retries → access. No redirect, no webhook, no SDK beyond fetch().
Sessions: agents deposit into escrow, stream signed off-chain vouchers. Server settles on-chain periodically. No tx per call.
MPP stands for Machine Payments Protocol. Not multi-party. An open HTTP standard, CC0 licensed, submitted to IETF for formal standardization.
The ambition: be for agent payments what OAuth became for identity.

@stripe co-authored the spec. @AnthropicAI and @OpenAI are day-1 services. $500M raised at $5B. Mainnet launched 11 days ago.

Agents are starting to spend money.
The infrastructure for that is being built right now, across 162 projects, 6 layers, $8B in M&A activity in the last 18 months.
