To put this in context the homicide rate of Illinois is 5.76. the most dangerous state(Louisiana) topped out in 2021 at a homicide rate if about 20 and is currently about 10. U.S. overall is about 5. This means in 2015 your chance of being killed was 20 times that of in the United States. Now it is less likely than even the safest state (New Hampshire). Crazy change. People like the judge the voting patterns of other countries, but just as everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face, everyone thinks they know how they will vote until they have people they know get mugged/killed in a truly dangerous society. This is why right wing parties are doing well in Latin america, not because of Trump.

Senator Cotton is right. Permanent Daylight Savings has been tried and Americans didn’t like it. The better way is permanent Standard Time because it’s based on science. No dark mornings, it keeps our time in sync with the Sun, and no more changing the clocks. Arizona has been on Standard Time year round since 1968 without issue.

No one likes changing the clock, me included, but Congress has enacted permanent Daylight Savings Time multiple times before and repealed it each time once Americans experienced absurdly late sunrises in the winter. Arkansans don’t want their kids going to school in the pitch dark, and I’ll always put Arkansas first.
