I'm excited about the new Loidis album too but if I told any of my friends or family that I wanted to "meditate on life, love, and dub" and that I needed two hours they would hit me with a wrench

it's the 20th anniversary of someone pointing out to me that if you phonetically pronounce Beyonce's album title B'Day as it's written....

I think the Overmono album is okay, a little snoozy, but there is a kind of beautiful (!?) Aphex-y SH-101 interlude nestled near the end open.spotify.com/track/4qoWw…

It sucks that RA has basically retired as a critical entity but "our second cover story of summer 2026" is still very funny. After publishing literally the same feature on Jeff Mills that everyone has been publishing for 30 years we have...a second feature! of the season!

A little thrill to realize that an artist that you've always had trouble grasping—due to rarity or vinyl exclusivity or a bunch of aliases, etc—has effectively put everything they've ever done on Bandcamp. Baby Ford in this case, for me

I like the RA list well enough but if I was taking on such an impossible task I wouldn't make it a lot harder on myself by comparing, like, William Basinski and Fennesz to DJ Fist

It's just impossible to understand what the editorial intent was. If it was "electronic music" then I think the list has ignored huge swaths of that music. If it's "dance music" then I think the list arbitrarily included a lot of music that is obviously not that

It's not like I had high hopes but holy shit is this Charlotte de Witte album bad. The (pretty negative!) reviews have been too kind, if anything

The OxAm Waxahatchee profile is excellent (and long) but "Today she doesn’t even use Google as a search engine, preferring DuckDuckGo." Has to be one of the funniest things I've ever read

A Michigan Daily editor making literally nothing and eating shitty Wendy's from the Union would've copy-edited this and had it read 10x better xitter.cf/Johnubacon/status/1919…
I've since heard from insiders that now-former Michigan President Ono had put his pursued Oxford and Harvard -and didn't get close on either - but was pursued by U-Florida in October. Offer was too low, but when they upped in January, he interviewed. A surprise to Regents.

Going through some old vinyl: A Sunny Day in Glasgow basically never played a wrong note and then disappeared dignity intact. Legends.

Bum luck that they showed up a decade too early considering no one will shut up about shoegaze OR Philadelphia these days

Gloorp is kind of a dumb name sure but it’s just a silly fun little beat tape and got a score befitting that? Why are people hung up on this. Y’all realize that “Mamalarkey” ran the same day with a higher score, right?
