They posted the images on TikTok with ninja emojis, which have been used online as coded references to the N-word. The backlash was immediate. School officials confirmed the four students were disciplined but declined to disclose the consequences. Students from San Marcos and neighboring Dos Pueblos High School walked out of class, demanding accountability and stronger action against racism. Four students chose to put this online. Other students chose to stand up against it. RACISM ISN’T A JOKE.

Hey, hi. This is my student, Fei, in a class that I teach on audition strategy for fighting games. It seems as though the comments have already sufficiently defended the art of voice acting as a whole but I'd like to chime in and commend Fei for her bravery in documenting her educational journey. Art education by nature is messy and takes time. I've had the joy of being a part of Fei's journey for two years. Showcasing one's learning process as one is learning is NOT the same as showcasing a fully finished production. On her insta, Fei is giving the world a gift by showcasing what an actor does to push themselves out of their comfort zone and grow to new heights. She is inviting people to come on her journey AND inspiring others to start their own. Perhaps you, Mr. Mittens, can take this as an opportunity to feed your own growth and follow your heart's passion with as much joy and bravery as Fei. And yes, voice acting is cringe. The most successful of us are cringemaxxing. 😘

Nothing wrong with disabled people being represented in cartoons. Toph was a great example of well written disabled character. Can't say the same about gay characters because Avatar: Seven Havens is a show made for kids! So please, don't use "gay people exist" excuse here!
