happy 9 year anniversary to the peak that brought me into the hell hole that is the suju fandom 🩵
not a single lie
Riz Ahmed says French cuisine is overhyped because cooking a steak doesn't compare to the complexity of South Asian food
“I do feel that French cuisine is, I guess, a little bit overhyped”
“It's relatively simpler things that are done executing very well and with care”
“Coming from a background where it's about curries slow cooked, intense layering of a dish like nihari, the amount of spices and things going into it, it's just incredible. The flavor profile and the range of things, the time it takes...”
“Whereas, not being funny, but a steak, it's a steak”
“Like you get the thing, you put it on and the trick is like, oh, 28 seconds or 33, and it's like boom”

There is this weird dynamic in the US where the natural human guilt of bombing people of a specific ethnicity is counteracted not by ending the act of bombing but by placing the same ethnicity diaspora in charge of the next bombs

Was literally talking to my friend about this scene and how easily it was forgotten LIKE hicran and zarife truly intended to kill sevcan and even tho thankfully she was saved this was still attempted murder and yet again these women suffered no consequences..

you can love a fictional character and still admit when he is wrong. I love Adil Koçari but can acknowledge his flaws (he has none) and can hold him accountable for his wrongs (never done anything wrong in his life) and call him out for his actions (which are always correct)

As the tide turns globally, I see the effort to pin the blame solely on Netanyahu. The strategy is to resurrect Israel's image in the process of toppling him. But genocide is not a one-man show; the whole system is culpable. Zionism must be abolished. There is no going back.
