Ron Weasley yelling “Expensive Petroleum” while filling up his car might be the peak of comedy 🤣

we just recently rewatched Schitt’s Creek.. so sad that she’s gone at such a relatively early age..

First it’s “put glue on pizza” then “substitute all sodium intake with bromine” and now it’s “decrease lift to gain altitude.” Yes, LLMs are gonna cure cancer any day now

AI has dramatically accelerated how software is written. But speed was never the real bottleneck.
Despite LLMs, The Mythical Man-Month is still surprisingly relevant. Not because of how code is produced, but because of what actually slows software down: coordination, shared understanding, and conceptual integrity.
AI makes code cheap. It does not make software design, architecture, integration, or alignment free.
In fact, faster code generation can amplify old problems:
* Incoherent abstractions appear sooner
* Integration costs surface later
* “We’re almost done” illusions become stronger
What matters more than ever is strong architecture, clear intent, and technical leadership. The modern leverage point is not the fastest coder, but the person who can frame problems well, guide AI output, and preserve system coherence.
A modern version of Brooks’ Law might be: "Adding more AI to a late or poorly defined project makes it confusing faster."
AI changes the tools. It doesn’t repeal the laws of software engineering.

US hotels: “welcome. Your free WiFi is DSL speed and only works in one corner”
Latin America hotels: “Hola. The free WiFi is symmetrical gigabit fiber speed”
Europe hotels: “bonjour. Purchase a coffee downstairs for a 15 minute WiFi code”
Asia hotels: “did you bring a VPN?”

We'll never have the Year Of Linux On The Desktop because 95% of Linux developers wake up and say "what fundamental thing can I randomly change to make this system more inaccessible to the layperson today?"

AI code is sporadic. It ranges from averaged logical slop that you can tell at a glance will destroy the internal logic of your code base, to semi usable slop that you can't tell immediately how harmful it is to your code bass and will destroy your project months down the line in ways you can't even comprehend.
It's a great learning tool though.
Thank you boomers for a) putting inappropriate screw drives out in the wild and b) leaving them behind completely worn out for the future generation (me) to deal with.
All-time favorite: Using PH on PZ and vice versa, and choosing cross-shaped altogether on high-torque use cases.
of all these tools, I only only only use digital signing, i.e. "Use a certificate", which is collapsed under "View more". How about fixing these things instead of going big on AI?

Today the 172 felt like a 747, delivering relief to the hardest hit areas of W NC. It was a humbling honor to run disaster relief into that region and see the tired volunteers in Rutherford Cty, NC. They were so thankful for the supplies. #TeamHighWing
Hey #teamhighwing, @bostonpilot85, @garyweissel, @ThisC172Pilot … does one of you know who created that "Logo"/Clipart? I remember I had a conversation about it but I don't find it via the search function anymore…

We were never supposed to have this much access to stupid people’s thoughts, beliefs, and opinions.
