It's a weekend without football, so what should we do? Sports Take has ideas. Also, an ugly memo about #Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores, why I called PJ Fleck "coach of the moment" and the #Badgers lose a commitment from a 7-1 Minnesota center. thedailyagenda.com/p/sports-…

P.J. Fleck's success with @GopherSports football has created a problem for several other teams at the U of M. It's playing out in real time at @StribSports. Hint: It's a throwback to 20th century sports sections. That's Topic A in this week's Sports Take. thedailyagenda.com/p/sports-…

Sports Take: Oregon safety Koi Perich isn't getting the love he received when he played for the #Gophers. Post mortems on the Lynx and Twins argue they didn't back up words with actions. A thought about P.J. Fleck's bloodletting and a Nick Punto sighting. thedailyagenda.com/p/sports-…

The full version of this report is here. It's taken from my Sports Take newsletter, which was published earlier today. thedailyagenda.com/p/sports-…

Sports Take features a major development in #Timberwolves TV plans for this season on @DAZN. Short version: After being a launch pad for talent that's gone national, the Wolves are planning to bring in two broadcasters who will bring national reputations. thedailyagenda.com/p/sports-…

I can't recall a time when sports has brought out so much of the worst among us. Violence against women mocked, delusional parents, attention-seeking grifters. I shared my annoyance in this week's Sports Take before getting to stuff I'm happier to share. thedailyagenda.com/p/sports-…

Sports Take: Separating contenders and pretenders in Minnesota sports, including a higher bar for Gophers football and volleyball. Plus, keys to the Vikings season, Quinn Hughes news, context for Lynx ticket prices and a new sport for Jessie Diggins. thedailyagenda.com/p/sports-…

Reading about Marc Lore selling his majority share of the Wolves & Lynx, it struck me nobody had described the new venture he's promoting. Calling it a "food business" doesn't do it justice, neither for its scope nor risk. I went deep on it in Sports Take thedailyagenda.com/p/sports-…

New Sports Take has conversation starters about Vikings, Lynx, Twins and a high profile prep basketball star switching schools. I also compare P.J. Fleck to an ex-Gophers coach, have a new favorite Viking and share video from Karl-Anthony Towns' wedding. thedailyagenda.com/p/sports-…

Sports Take: A quote from a Charlotte reporter's Q&A with Naz Reid may make you tear up. So could Twins pitcher Tommy Nance talking about the Field Of Dreams game. Bringing you cheer, we have Kayla McBride, Paige Bueckers and Hall of Famer Goldy Gopher. thedailyagenda.com/p/sports-…

Sports Take: Different teams have different expectations. Vikings ownership wants titles. Twins ownership just wants fans' trust. The Lynx want you to talk about their 25-6 record. Also, cleaning up after Sophie Cunningham & a guide to the hockey Cullens. thedailyagenda.com/p/sports-…

Caitlin Clark and the sideshows - Iowans, Sophie Cunningham, agenda-setting hopefuls - will be at Target Center Sunday. Plus, real Vikings QB competition starts, Twins say they're gonna buy and a tribute to Coach John Anderson from a former Gophers star. thedailyagenda.com/p/sports-…

Sports Take marks its 2nd anniversary with an inside look at the Studbudz, as well as the link where you can watch their all-weekend, All-Star Game livestream. Also, Gophers sports economics and thoughts on the death of Strib sportswriter David La Vaque. thedailyagenda.com/p/sports-…

Sports Take: Last season's top scorer on the Gophers men's basketball team takes the NCAA to court. Also: Will Twins draft choice Vahn Lackey be Joe Mauer 2.0? Suni Lee comes home for '28 Olympic training. A coaching mystery (and job opening) In Duluth. thedailyagenda.com/p/sports-…

A plan for how the Twins should proceed at the trade deadline that holds up whether or not they stay in playoff contention. ("Whether or not" is something I didn't figure on writing.) Also, Cheryl Reeve deserves better from Minnesota media. Sports Take: thedailyagenda.com/p/sports-…

Sports Take: Deep look at the Ball-for-Naz (plus a zillion draft picks) trade. Also, NCAA does something good, Twins import excitement to Target Field, end of Da Beauty hockey league, a prep transfer idea and cringeworthy "spontaneous fan interactions." thedailyagenda.com/p/sports-…

Feeling bad for Brian Buxton and glad for Olivia Miles. This week's Sports Take also previews NHL and NBA drafts and has links to follow Grandma's Marathon. Also, a bold idea for the Wolves and Twins make a grade school-type offer to season-ticket holders thedailyagenda.com/p/sports-…
