J’ai tellement de la peine et de la rage devant ces images terrifiantes du gérant d’un magasin Micromania à Nice complètement désemparé par le pillage de son magasin..🙄 #17Octobre

Mass celebrations break out in the West Bank and Gaza, and Palestinians cheer, dance, and distribute free sweets. Palestine is the only known place on earth to see overwhelming popular celebration of yesterday’s attacks, although Yasser Arafat condemned the attacks and denied responsibility yesterday.

I understand the complaints about games being on all different streaming apps, but what is the issue with international games? Why are people pissed off at games being played overseas? Serious question— I don’t get it.

Apparently we’ve struck a nerve with Gov. Lamont. Now he’s outright lying about his record on data centers. Lamont gave them decades of exemptions from property taxes, as well as sales and use taxes while YOU pay more in property taxes to subsidize them. In Windsor, a data center avoided nearly $20 MILLION in taxes to create just 5 jobs. Don’t take my word for it. Read about it here: governing.com/finance/connec…
Let’s be clear about where CT stands on AI data centers. We have said no to energy sucking AI data centers and we’ll keep saying no. Connecticut ratepayers should not be left paying the energy bill for them, and communities here don't want them.

The people have spoken. We are done with the gaslighting. Men aren’t women. Boys aren’t girls. Girls deserve fair sport. All levels. All girls. Sophie’s courage has inspired a generation of young athletes.

In 2021, Ben Crump fueled nationwide outrage when he told the world 16-year-old Ma'Khia Bryant was unarmed in her yard when police arbitrarily shot her. His statements were shared thousands of times and generated enormous public outrage. Mr. Crump did not publicly retract those claims after body camera footage showed Bryant was holding a large knife and moving toward another young woman when the officer fired. Mr. Crump represented the family of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, and became one of the leading voices behind the "Hands up, don't shoot" narrative, asserting Brown was surrendering when he was shot. Those claims helped fuel nationwide protests and unrest. Mr. Crump did not publicly retract those claims after the Department of Justice concluded that the physical evidence and witness testimony did not support that narrative. In Mississippi, Mr. Crump represented the family of Trey Reed, a young college student found hanging from a tree. He held press conferences demanding "the truth" while rumors spread online claiming Reed had suffered numerous broken bones and that it was a "lynching." Mr. Crump did not publicly correct those claims after the official medical examination found no broken bones and ruled the death a suicide. Although he commissioned a private autopsy and promised its findings would be shared, that report was never publicly released. Following the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Mr. Crump publicly described Blake as unarmed and peaceful. Mr. Crump did not publicly correct those statements after investigators determined Blake was carrying a knife and had continued resisting officers after two taser deployments. Blake himself later acknowledged during a national television interview that he had been carrying a knife and only dropped it after being shot. When 29-year-old Jalen Randle was fatally shot by a Houston police officer, Mr. Crump held a major press conference asserting body camera footage would show Randle had been shot in the back of the neck while running away. Mr. Crump did not publicly correct those claims after body camera footage and the medical examination showed the opposite. During the high-profile prosecution of Oklahoma City police officer Daniel Holtzclaw, Mr. Crump publicly claimed forensic testing had found a teenage accuser's DNA inside Holtzclaw's uniform trousers and Holtzclaw's DNA inside the teenager's undergarments. Mr. Crump did not publicly correct those statements after sworn crime lab testimony showed that no such forensic evidence existed. Now, Mr. Crump has stepped into the investigation surrounding the death of Ocean Springs teenager Nolan Wells. Within days, he was publicly questioning the integrity of the investigation and telling national audiences that authorities were attempting to "sweep the investigation under the rug." He also amplified a rumor that Nolan had made it back to shore on the night of July 4 and attended a pool party, sharing a photograph while acknowledging it was, at that point, only a rumor. That rumor spread across social media with incredible speed. Before long, countless people were repeating as fact that Nolan had been killed in Ocean Springs and that his body had later been transported back to Horn Island. Since then, eyewitnesses have stated that the photograph Mr. Crump shared was actually taken in June, before the Fourth of July weekend. Whether every statement Mr. Crump has made about the Nolan Wells case ultimately proves true or false is not the point. The point is that extraordinary allegations deserve extraordinary evidence, particularly when they have the power to divide communities, undermine public confidence, and shape national opinion before investigators have completed their work. Questioning those allegations is not racism because Mr. Crump happens to be black. Holding powerful people accountable for their public statements is not racism. Author ~ E. Brian Rose

Even got me loving @RGIII now, wtf
FIFA got it right by suspending Folarin Balogun’s Red Card under Article 27. Belgium’s protesting the decision isn’t about the integrity of the game. It’s about getting an advantage over the USA. If it was about the integrity of the game, they would be championing Balogun having his Red card suspended because it was improper use of the VAR system and not a Red card offense. Where were the appeals when Cristiano Ronaldo got his 3 game red card ban suspended and reduced to a 1 game ban on a friendly so he could play this entire World Cup? DR Congo and Uzbekistan didn’t protest Cristiano Ronaldo eligibility to play. They played Portugal at full strength. If Belgium doesn’t want to play now because FIFA made the right call and the USA has Folarin Balogun back in the lineup, then THAT’S WEAK. They don’t deserve to win. Put the ball down and play. Don’t pick up your ball and go home.

America turns 250 today. Let me read back the resume. We started by telling a king to pound sand, in writing. By 1803 we bought half a continent from France for about four cents an acre. We fought a war with ourselves and somehow stayed one country. We strung a railroad across the entire thing. We handed the world the lightbulb, the telephone, and the airplane in about thirty years flat. Then a man named Willis Carrier invented air conditioning and made half the planet actually livable. You are welcome, Texas. You are welcome, Dubai. Twice the whole world caught fire, and twice we showed up and helped put it out. We split the atom. We put men on the moon in 1969. Then we went back and hit golf balls up there, because why not. We invented jazz, blues, rock and roll, and hip-hop, and the whole planet is still dancing to it. We put a burger and fries on every corner of the earth. We built rockets that fly themselves home and land standing straight up. We flew a helicopter on Mars. We launched a car into actual space and it is still out there cruising. We also invented ranch dressing and somehow talked the entire world into putting it on pizza. Priorities. We even invented three of our own sports so we could win them. Baseball, basketball, and football. Real football, the kind with hands, because we named it and we are not taking corrections. The rest of the planet can keep soccer, which is fine, we are hosting it in our backyard this summer anyway. And yes, Canadian football exists, wider field, extra man, one fewer down, and we try very hard not to think about it. Frankly it was generous of us to invent our own games. If we put all that energy into soccer, nobody else would ever lift that trophy again. We would win it so often they would just rename it the America’s Cup and hand us the keys. You are welcome for the suspense. And in 2026 we threw a birthday so big a German tourist live-tweeted our gas stations to 750,000 people. Not every chapter was clean. We argued, we stumbled, we fixed what we broke, and we kept building. That is the whole trick. Two hundred and fifty years in, and we are still the loudest, brightest, most improbable experiment on the map. Not bad for a country that started as a strongly worded letter to a king. Happy birthday, America. 🦋
