I am so saddened to hear of the death of Marianne Faithfull. She was so much part of my life for so long. She was a wonderful friend, a beautiful singer and a great actress. She will always be remembered.

Strangest thing, Sarah: I can’t find the bit where you apologise for standing up in Parliament last week saying people ‘want their hotel back’.
Can you point me to it? Or will it be covered in your resignation letter?

Here’s just a few examples of Daily Mail headlines that have fanned the flames of hate and normalised Islamophobic and anti-migrant rhetoric #GMB

It really is transparent that after years of calling Corbynism "a hate movement" and anti-genocide-in-Gaza protests "violent mobs", the British press has absolutely no idea to respond to actual racist pogroms, especially given they inspired them for years with anti-migrant hate.

I'd *completely* forgotten what it looks like when people who are actually equipped for the job get appointed to roles in Cabinet, rather than posts being used as cruel party in-jokes or grubby backhanders.

The Tories have had a historic defeat. Labour has a chance to build something better. Happy weekend, everyone. theguardian.com/commentisfre…

ALT Many don’t believe anything will change with a Labour government, let alone soon. In the coming months, Starmer must show it can. For now, it is enough to sit and savour what has ended. To draw a line under the worst of governments and remember the millions of lives made poorer, sicker, more afraid. Today is for Windrush, disability benefit deaths and Grenfell. It is for food banks, “go home” vans and the rape clause. For PPE contracts, cancer patients and Rwanda flights. Goodbye to the vandals of Britain. How fitting they destroyed themselves in the end.
