Proud to continue serving alongside President @ShawnFainUAW fighting for the UAW membership and the working class
UAW Local 405 members at Triumph Group are READY.
In the last five years alone, Triumph Group has raked in a whopping $687 million in profit. So, why are its workers in West Hartford, CT, continuing to fall behind?
Local 405 members are done going backwards. They're ready to stand up for the contract they deserve!
I love saying that getting to majority sponsors on a bill is not "doing the basic legislative work that can move a bill"
Also love I have 60 bills in my committee but none have majority sponsors so I am blocking the one that does bc to me"legislative work is something else"
Hey @OsseChi – the reason your bill hasn’t moved is because you are focused on doing what gets you attention, rather than doing basic legislative work that can move the bill.
You refuse to engage with relevant stakeholders; and skip public safety hearings where you could question the commissioner directly and get conversations moving. Your attendance record says everything we need to know: you literally have the *worst* attendance record of all 51 Councilmembers this session; and when you attend Stateds via Zoom, you leave as soon as you possibly could. (See video!)
It’s unfortunate that you are more interested in doing the performative stuff for social media attention, rather than doing the difficult work to resolve this important issue.
P.S. No one is blocking your bill. Stop the rage-bait. There are roughly 60 bills under my committee. Bills move when sponsors do the legislative work, not when they prioritize the political theater.

Congratulations to my friend @ShawnFainUAW on winning his re-election for president of @UAW.
Now we get to work — for 2028 and beyond. As Shawn put it: “It’s time to decide what kind of a world we want to live in. And it’s time to decide what we are willing to do to get there.”

Congratulations to UAW President Shawn Fain on his reelection. Shawn is one of the great union leaders in our country.
He has taken on the billionaire class, won strong victories for his members and understands the need to organize, organize, organize.
Solidarity forever!

I was proud to stand with @spocuaw yesterday as they rallied for a fair contract!

Stood with @spocuaw members outside Mount Sinai yesterday to demand a fair contract, along with fellow Dem nominees. The staff has brought in millions in research dollars. Management should come to the table and support the workers.

A big victory for the workers of Autozone, UAW Local 259 @UAWRegion9A. Management hired all the possible anti union consultants and spent a boatload of money to defeat them. But the workers made it clear that you can’t beat good organizing. Congratulations! Welcome to the @uaw
HUGE: Autozone workers just won the first ever union at the company.
Despite Autozone spending an estimated $210,696 and using every tactic in the book to stop just 11 workers from forming a union, the small shop in New York chose to unionize today.
These workers will now join the @UAW.

Leaders from our local unions in Puerto Rico met with a special visitor today: future Congresswoman Claire Valdez, a former @UAW2110 unit leader and current New York State Assemblymember.
We are saddened by the loss of NPR journalist and #SagAftraMember Rose Friedman, who has died at 38. A proud shop steward, Rose helped win increased paid parental leave for NPR employees. Our condolences to her family, friends and NPR colleagues.
