It's been a terrible year for farming, Jeremy Clarkson tells Tory conference bbc.in/46Y83FF
People keep saying "The EPL found City guilty." It didn't. An INDEPENDENT commission did, three members chaired by a KC, appointed through the same judicial system City themselves used to beat the League over sponsorship rules.
The League only brought the case.
City agreed to this process.
They just didn't expect to lose it.

Back in 2014, there was a man who was already aware of the irregularities involving Manchester City. That man now runs FIFA. The infamous Gianni Infantino, then UEFA General Secretary, abused his authority, shared confidential documents and, in short, outmanoeuvred the Investigatory Chamber, doing everything in his power to ensure that both Manchester City and PSG would merely receive a fine, avoiding a deeper investigation that could have led to a Champions League ban. All of these details were also revealed through Football Leaks.
Given his actions as UEFA General Secretary and, more recently, as FIFA President, I can only say, in my humble opinion, that Gianni Infantino has become a cancer on football and should have no place in the future of the game.

Rob Harris has done an important job in the Manchester City case, covering every little detail and risking plenty — even with the question to Pep Guardiola after the FA Cup final.
He’s been on the case for years and broke everything down perfectly.

🚨 MAJOR BREAKING: Premier League confirm an independent Commission has found Manchester City GUILTY OF ALL CHARGES related to serious breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules over a nine-season period, and the majority of charges in relation to its failure to co-operate with the League’s investigation.
The club has the right to appeal the independent Commission’s findings and has until Friday 2 October to exercise that right.
The Premier League Board’s intention is that the full process (including any appeals and publication of relevant decisions) is concluded as soon as possible.
The independent Commission found that between Seasons 2009/10 and 2017/18:
- Manchester City arranged ‘sham’ contracts (which misrepresented the true agreement between the parties) with a number of its commercial partners, as well as relying on ‘sham’ agreements with others, to artificially inflate the club’s revenues and reduce its costs
- The club filed misstated accounts and concealed the true state of its finances from its auditors and football regulators
- Manchester City was significantly in breach of both the Premier League’s and UEFA’s spending limits
- During the Premier League’s investigation, Manchester City committed multiple breaches of its duties of co-operation and utmost good faith towards the League (three of the four alleged breaches were upheld)

You know, this might be a good time for that 'comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence'.
Oh wait that's right, it is about as real as your sham revenues that you artificially inflated.
There is no doubt what you are now. Cheats.

The full City decision is extraordinary. An epic level of truly malevolent fraud. £830m of fake revenue.
City booked £949.94m of Abu Dhabi sponsorship over nine seasons. £119.25m of it was real. The other £830.69m was the owner's money (ADUG -> Mansour -> ultimately the Abu Dhabi dictatorship) dressed up as sponsorship.

From when City started cheating & financial doping, they have raked in approximately £3.3 billion in prize money & have spent £3.6 billion on transfers.
The poisonous tree which was facilitated by £3.8 billion in commercial 'revenue', which was not as real as they made out thanks to years of financial doping.
It isn't a chicken or egg proposition, none of it exists without the cheating which paved the way for Toure, Aguero, De Bruyne, Rodri, Pep & co.
False accounting is a crime, fraud is a crime, false statements are a crime. No different to stealing, the prize money & trophies were stolen & built on lies.

This poor guy. Wins a Ballon d’Or on the back of his club’s cheating. It’s slowly sinking in for him that everything he’s achieved for those frauds is utterly meaningless 😭 Asterisk next to everything.
Rodri: “What we did, they cannot take from us. It’s not money, it’s effort, partnership, shoulder-to-shoulder everyday.
We had a lot of successful years. I can only tell you that everything was deserved. I’m glad that I could live one of the best eras of English football.”

I’m actually, genuinely, just disgusted
Anyone who’s a football fan should put any tribal nonsense aside and just wish them the worst.
They have corrupted our national sport and ruined a decade of it for everyone. It’s truly sickening.
Everyone involved in this is scum.

Popping in to say - we all knew they were flagrant cheats. THEY all knew as well - the fans, the content creators, the client journalists - but thought the lavishly-assembled legal team meant they could gaslight the fuck out of us for years. A stain on the game the lot of them

Absolute pile of fucking wham, this. They didn’t “win”. They cheated. That is not winning. What next, you your commit fraud and keep the money, despite being found guilty? Fucking bizarre take. Those are not their trophies now.

When you’re asking foreign royals who don’t know you exist to increase your cost of living, it’s probably worth contemplating whether at some stage your football fandom might have caused your brain to fall out.
Raise the price of petrol and diesel, @MansourBinZayed.
Let’s see what decision they come to after that.

What annoyed me the most about those charges and the way the players and Pep used to speak is this utter nonsense 'woe is me dialogue'
'We should be praised more' You've literally cheated and are able to throw players away like toys.
Their entire success is tainted.

‼️ Jim Ratcliffe:
🔹 Backed Brexit
🔹 Moved his tax residence to Monaco
🔹 Abandoned plans to build the British 🇬🇧 Grenadier in Wales and moved production to France
🔹 Now lectures Britain from Denmark about why the country is on the slide
And who does he blame? Immigrants and people on benefits.
The billionaires who helped hollow Britain out always point down, never at Brexit, tax flight, chronic underinvestment or their own decisions.
*Toughness* seems to mean somebody poorer paying the price.
