To our British Jewish community, I stand with you today and all days.
My thoughts are with the families and friends of those murdered and taken hostage by Hamas terrorists 3 years ago on 7th October 2023, including at Nova music festival.
To anyone planning on protesting today of all days, I urge you to rethink. To go ahead would be callous, inconsiderate and cruel. Please show some decorum.

2. Wine duty was frozen and fell in real terms, revenue increased. Then it rose sharply and revenue fell

If cops keep pulling you over for the SAME problems… maybe the cops aren’t the problem.
Ma’am… that might be the part where you stop blaming the entire police profession and start checking your own paperwork.
Suspended license. Insurance canceled for non-payment. Car getting towed.
And somehow EVERYBODY ELSE is the problem.
She argued that officers keep doing this to her, but if traffic stops have become a recurring event, maybe it’s time to straighten out the license, make sure the insurance is actually active, and handle business before getting behind the wheel.
Instead, she decided she was just going to walk away from the active stop.
That went about as well as you’d expect.
What started as traffic violations ultimately escalated into additional allegations of obstruction and resisting arrest.
At some point, when the same problem keeps following you around, the common denominator probably isn’t the cops.
They were behind prison walls.
The kids they helped were sitting in school cafeterias miles away.
And somehow, those two worlds connected.
In Norton, Kansas, incarcerated men with Reaching Out From Within reached into their own personal funds and raised $3,810 to help families struggling with unpaid school meal debt.
Correctional staff added another $457.
Together, they gave $4,267.
They didn’t know these children.
They would probably never meet them.
There was no applause waiting outside the gates.
They simply knew what it meant for a child to need help—and decided they could still be the ones to give it.
Their past brought them behind those walls.
But their past didn’t stop them from doing something good today.
You can’t undo yesterday.
But sometimes redemption begins with one quiet decision to make someone else’s tomorrow a little easier.
And this time, it meant helping make sure a child could eat.
So… I was 100% convinced I wouldn’t be at all interested in the new folding iPhone.
I assumed that the software would be amazing but that the hardware would be horrifically compromised in gen 1, just as the iPhone Air was.
Fair play to @johnternus’s team - it’s a hell of an effort.
A day in the life of @Shopify: "Where should we put a URL redirect?"
Dev: "I think that should be under 'Content'... In fact, let's make it 'Content / Menus'."
"Riiiiight. How about a static article for the website? Surely that's 'Content'?"
"Nope."
"?????"
"Sales channels."
"Sales channels?!"
"Yes. Sales channels / Online Store"
Right after we finish our Ukraine wine tasting, an example of why it is so critical to support this incredibly brave country. Richard is doing amazing work here to help the resistance against Russian aggression

Thankfully we get slightly better tasting notes than this on the @onlinewineclub
The AA @TheAA_UK are an absolute disgrace. Rather than offering any value or assistance, I would have been better off, spent far less money, and lost way less time going independently. 24 hours and counting out of my short holiday and now just abandoned. Cancel your membership.

From a very credible Labour source:
- Wes Streeting promised the Chancellorship for not running.
- Capital gains raised to match income tax. Possible exit tax.
- Economic focus: devolution, plus state ownership of cost-of-living essentials (energy, water, transport).
- Nothing on AI or tech, bar higher capital gains and an EIS/SEIS-style relief for backing British businesses. (Spoiler: startups now incorporate in Delaware and raise on SAFEs. I’ve done 60+ angel investments; only two were eligible.)
Andy and Wes don’t seem to grasp that tech has been the core engine of growth for 20 years, and AI will only accelerate that.
So why would any founder build here? How does the UK compete with the US and China on AI? Where does growth actually come from?
The world economy is changing fast, and we need to be ready to thrive in it, not just survive.
I really hope this admin appoints some figures who actually get what’s happening. Losing business support early, from a disastrous first budget, was the beginning of the end for Starmer.
