I know many journalists and activists who've been targeted by some of the most dangerous people imaginable—foreign intelligence services, oligarchs, private security operatives. @JimStewartson is one of them. I know him personally, and I've watched as Jim (and his @radicalizedpod colleagues) have faced relentless attacks for their work exposing the truth about the ongoing assault on American democracy. The smear campaigns and attacks against him have been brutal. But he's still standing—held up by sheer force of will, his family, and a community that knows exactly who he is: a patriot who risks everything to protect our democracy while others stay silent. As an independent writer, he might not have the institutional backing or perceived authority of those who attack him—professional trolls and unregistered foreign agents who masquerade as journalists and "extremism researchers". But the truth doesn't require credentials. Jim is facing spurious legal attacks right now that threaten press freedom. If you can help with his defense fund, subscribe to his blog, or share his story, it matters. Every single bit of support strengthens the shield around someone who chose to fight for all of us at great personal cost. There are many examples of such heroes around us. Look for them. Support them. gofund.me/aa3ea742
