Their large ears help them cool down by flapping them to create a breeze, and by dilating their blood vessels to increase blood flow to their ears. 📌Hold an ice cube in your palm. It will begin to melt. Heat moves from one location of high heat to another of low heat. The ice cube does not make your hand cold. In reality, the heat from your hand warms the ice cube. So this is why it melts. This is exactly what happens in an elephant's ears when his body temperature exceeds that of his surroundings. Heat is emitted from the ears. 📌Elephants can hear very soft sounds with their large ears, which helps them escape predators
