The new Govt Emergency Alerts service will be tested in the UK this Sun 23 Apr at 3pm. The system will warn people when their lives are in danger. The alert is loud and siren-like with vibration (hear the sound ow.ly/eXrc50NOcgU) and a message on your mobile phone screen.
