Actuvi's Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (RTM) programs help alleviate existing workflows for clinical staff. It reduces the workload for many office duties, like paperwork and physical forms. Less paperwork leaves more room for patients. In a 2026 survey, 49% of clinicians said they could take on more patients if documentation took less time. It also reduces the number of calls clinics get daily, thanks to improved workflow through messaging within Actuvi. See how Actuvi fits into a clinic's workday. Medicare and commercial payors are now reimbursing pain clinics for Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (RTM). Many pain clinic owners and directors are unsure if RTM is viable for them. They already do much of the work but may not realize they can get reimbursed. When we talk with them, their first questions are usually "How does it work?" and "Will it work for us?" Within a few weeks, they start billing for RTM with Actuvi. Actuvi has launched RTM programs for 25 pain clinics in the last 3 months. We’re here to answer your questions. Actuvi is the safest Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (RTM) platform clinics can run on. 1) The platform has built-in guardrails to prevent fraud, overbilling, and overcalculation of monitoring time. 2) Before patients can access Actuvi, they read and sign an e-consent form that establishes the program’s scope and confirms it is not for emergencies. 3) The platform handles the compliance needed for all the billing codes. If clinics are ever audited, they have complete documentation ready. 4) Actuvi keeps up with CMS so clinic teams do not have to. When CMS changes its rules, Actuvi updates the platform so clinics can focus on care and capturing revenue. With the new proposed CMS rules for RTM, Actuvi has become the go-to platform for clinics. Whether the rules become final or not, our clinic partners already run RTM the way CMS wants. Launch your RTM program with the most trusted brand in digital care → actuvi.com/launchrtm

There has been quick adoption of Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (RTM) across physical therapy and orthopedics, and that's great. But RTM was built for much more, and Actuvi was built to help. RTM can run across dozens of medical specialties and is designed to focus on three core areas: respiratory, musculoskeletal, and cognitive behavioral therapy. Our latest article explains how RTM got its early reputation and what it looks like when the program is built for the clinics running it. Read it here → actuvi.com/launchrtm

"I love it but I have to get this past the CFO.” In conversations with medical directors, we notice that they see the value of remote therapeutic monitoring (RTM) for their patients and organizations immediately but fear the CFO will push back on adding an RTM program. We actually enjoy talking with CFOs because it ensures that we get proper validation of RTM for the client. We build a pro forma and show them the program's ROI and profitability across optimal, conservative, and worst-case scenarios. We are confident in these conversations because we know that with Actuvi, RTM programs will always be profitable. If you’re a medical director who wants to start an RTM program but thinks your CFO might push back, you’re not alone. CMS-proposed changes for 2027 have created concerns and uncertainty about Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (RTM). CMS has proposed several changes to RTM, but one has drawn the most attention: clinics must perform remote monitoring in-house, not outsource it to third-party vendors. This has caused uncertainty among clinical leaders about launching new RTM programs. Whether these changes take effect or not, nothing changes for clinics running on Actuvi. Our RTM programs already fit within these changes. Actuvi was built to run RTM the right way from the start. We have always believed the best care happens when local providers deliver it, even digitally. Patients stay within the clinic's ecosystem. Our job is to support providers with the best technology and tools for care. Don't wait for the final rules. Launch your RTM program with confidence with Actuvi: actuvi.com/launchrtm

We're proud to announce our partnership with GoHealthcare Practice Solutions, a management services organization (MSO). GoHealthcare's client network spans 180 musculoskeletal specialty clinics, and together, we're simplifying, optimizing, and streamlining the implementation and operations of remote therapeutic monitoring (RTM). Medicare claims for RTM have grown every year since CMS introduced the codes in 2022, rising from 59,040 services in the first year to roughly 547,000 in 2024, and are on pace to cross one million by the end of this year. GoHealthcare's clients in interventional pain, spine, orthopedic, neurosurgery, and physical medicine can now offer RTM programs on the Actuvi platform. This partnership pushes preventative care forward, making RTM a standard part of musculoskeletal specialty care. Learn more in today's announcement. actuvi.com/blog/actuvi-gohea…

Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (RTM) should not just be generic assessments or a home exercise program (HEP). RTM should adapt to a clinic's care and provide actionable data that helps providers understand each patient's baselines, trends, habits, and recovery. That means the goals, assessments, treatment plans, thresholds, and escalation criteria are built around the clinic's own care pathways. RTM done right is preventative care that benefits both patient and provider. Learn how you can have a bespoke RTM program on the Actuvi platform today → actuvi.com/schedule-demo

The updated 2026 Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (RTM) codes let clinics bill for a shorter monitoring period (2 to 15 days) alongside the existing (16 to 30 days) codes. But do the new codes stack with the old ones? Can a clinic bill both for the same patient in the same month? No. ➝ These codes are either/or. Bill 98984/5/6 for short-term monitoring (2 to 15 days), and 98976/7/8 for longer-term monitoring (16 to 30 days). If clinics bill both for the same patient in one month, the claim will be denied. ➝ Treatment management codes follow the same rule. Bill 98979 for 10 to 19 minutes. After 20 minutes, bill 98980, then 98981 for additional time. ➝ Remember, 98981 only counts full 20-minute blocks. If a care team spends 90 minutes monitoring a patient in a month, they can bill for 80 minutes. The last 10 minutes cannot be billed with 98979. Care teams don’t need to memorize these rules. Actuvi's RTM platform has these built in. Care teams can focus on patient care while the platform automatically generates CPT-coded billing reports, ready to download. Comments on the proposed CY 2027 Medicare rule for remote monitoring close on September 14. The proposal asks a big question: who should be allowed to do the monitoring? CMS's answer is the clinic's own care team. Government auditors have found companies cold-calling Medicare patients to sign them up for remote monitoring, and 43% of those enrolled never received all the required parts of the service. In 2025, Medicare paid over $500 million for remote monitoring, with billing patterns that raised concerns. We support the direction CMS is taking: ➝ Keep the in-house requirement. The clinic’s own care team should do the monitoring. ➝ Keep the established-patient rule for remote monitoring. Clinics should only monitor patients they care for. ➝ Keep the requirement for an initiating visit. Monitoring should begin with a real conversation between the patient and their provider. Our CEO Reagan Smith published his take on the proposal: "The best care happens when local providers deliver it, even digitally. The patients stay within the clinic's ecosystem. Our job is to support providers with the best technology and tools for care." If this rule is finalized, nothing changes for clinics running on Actuvi. The model CMS wants to require is the model our clinic partners already run on. If you are doing remote monitoring or planning to start, do it the right way. Even the best doctors have blind spots. Once a patient leaves the clinic, crucial data is missing: ▸ are patients following their care plan or taking medications regularly ▸ is a patient's recovery trending up or down ▸ does the care team need to intervene But the best doctors find ways to close these blind spots. They run remote monitoring programs across all their patients, so they know how patients are doing between visits, whether the treatment plan is working, or if they need to intervene. That's exactly what Actuvi delivers, across every specialty. Actuvi automatically tracks and charts patient data between visits, so the care team knows who's on track and who needs a nudge before the next appointment. Offer preventative care to your patients and build the kind of trust that keeps them sending their friends and family your way. Connect with our remote care expert. ➝ actuvi.com/launchrtm

Between behavioral health visits, a patient can stop following the treatment plan or taking their medication, or their symptoms can worsen. Providers often don’t know until the next session. Actuvi’s platform automatically tracks and charts patient-reported data between visits: ‣ therapy and treatment compliance ‣ depression and anxiety level ‣ medication compliance ‣ activity levels ‣ sleep patterns When a patient's data crosses set thresholds, Actuvi alerts the care team so they can step in early. By pulling together patient-reported data and data from apps like Apple Health and Google Fit, and wearables like Whoop, Actuvi gives providers a complete picture of their patients’ health. Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers reimburse for this preventative, outcome-based care, as it helps prevent larger issues that require urgent care and hospital visits. Provide quality care to your patients. Talk to our RTM expert ➝ actuvi.com/launchrtm

Remote patient monitoring is limited to physicians, PAs, and NPs, which keeps it to very few specialties. Remote therapeutic monitoring opens billing to physical therapy, pain management, rheumatology, behavioral health, respiratory therapy, and many more specialties.
