"Be the Change you want to See" Mahatma Gandhi 🙏🏼 My solution for the traffic mess on OMR and Radial road without expensive flyovers 👍🏼 Siruseri to Airport 30km without a single signal. OMR is 130 feet wide for almost it's entire length with a few places even 170 feet wide. Radial road is supposed to be 200ft. As shown in the drawing, we make pavements on either side of 10ft each...non barricaded service road of 10ft. Every 1km there will be 20 ft long, precast 8ft by 8ft concrete boxes across the road with vehicles ramping up just 8ft and moving ahead. There will be U turns also every kilometer with a pedestrian plaza in between. So pedestrians can cross the road continuously without stopping, straight moving vehicles move continuously without stopping and vehicles wanting to take a U turn can do it continuously. No stopping by anyone for the entire 30km required. Safety for pedestrians 👍 Continous Movement for Vehicles 👍 A 50ft by 600ft pedestrian plaza every kilometer adding greenery to OMR and Radial road...reduced pollution. A Simple, no rocket science, doable proposal that will save citizens of Chennai over 2,000Cr EVERY YEAR in fuel costs...and all in less the cost of one flyover being planned in Pallikarnai. Let the Experts work out the finer details. @cmotamilnadu should look at the traffic mess in Chennai seriously 🙏🏼 Every GenZ, every family, every Officegoer should expect and demand our basic rights. This cannot be done by one individual...Please share so that it gets amplified 🙏🏽👍 BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE.

The concrete still not cured as of 9am this morning in front of IIT entrance

My suggestion for the IIT signal traffic congestion was implemented yesterday at 11am 🙏🏽 Thanks to Commissioner Mr.Amalraj IPS, Addl. Commissioner Ms.Shamoondeswari IPS, DC Ms.Megalina Iden IPS and AC Mr.Christopher. As the videos show, traffic moved quite smoothly through the day and evening. Shot at 11am and 7.30pm. There was a couple of hours of congestion around 5pm. But overall we have saved citizens of Chennai over 50 lakhs in fuel ⛽️ and thousands of man hours just in one day yesterday.👍 Both lanes are open for the Raj Bhavan to Madhya Kailash traffic on the flyover. Vehicles from Kotturpuram to OMR are the biggest beneficiaries with no stopping at all. Vehicles from Madhya Kailash to Raj Bhavan and Kotturpuram still move slowly due to the narrow passage way in front of Cancer hospital. Once that widening is done it will be smoother 👍 There will be teething problems but overall has improved flow of traffic 🙏 Hope they give it time to settle in.

There has been appreciation and negative comments on the new IIT flyover solution...more appreciation thankfully 😊🙃 It's easy to brush it aside and say "big deal, it's just a U turn " but it is a BIG DEAL in fuel saved, time saved and pollution. Just 10 minutes saved by 50% of vehicles at Madhya Kailash/IIT signal gives a cumulative value saving of over 300cr🙏🏽 5 minutes saved is still 150Cr plus. Savings are not just in fuel..it's also man hours and pollution. and remember, this is without building a 100 Cr flyover 😊 Please feel free to tinker with the parameters and decide your own saving figures...this is just the formula for calculations. @CMOTamilnadu ...we can save much more. Please give importance to traffic solutions and let Youth have more productive time rather than being stuck in traffic 🙏

Police are not able to implement this traffic diversion because the road in front of IIT entrance was dug up last Saturday...it is still not repaired as of yesterday. On checking, they said this comes under Highways. Have requested Highways to please repair it today, so that the trial can be done tomorrow, Saturday 🙏🏽 Chennai Citizens will save at least one crore every day in fuel costs and thousands of man hours if we are able to save 10 minutes of travel time. 11,000 vehicles cross this junction every hour roughly...even if we take half this number of vehicles, the savings for Chennai makkals is enormous 🙏🏼 @CMOTamilnadu @Chief_Secy_TN @AadhavArjuna @chennaipolice_ @CumtaOfficial
