From AI to quantum computing, the tech landscape is shifting—and so are we. 🚀

Proponents claim AICOA isn't the EU's Digital Markets Act. But as you look closer, the differences are in form, not function.
From forced interoperability that compromises device security to breaking seamless features, AICOA imports the exact same flawed playbook.
Why would Congress repeat an experiment that is already failing European users?

The EU's Digital Markets Act was supposed to be a global tech policy blueprint, but cracks in the framework are becoming hard to ignore.
Key jurisdictions are having second thoughts, choosing startup innovation over rigid, copycat regulation.

Last week, our President, @MorganwReed, testified before the House Judiciary Committee about the dysfunction at the USPTO.
In his opening statement, he made it clear: ACT members love patents, and, done correctly, there is no better way to reward invention and innovation.
🇧🇷 ACT is heading to Brazil 🇧🇷
Join our Developed: Brazil Tour to discuss funding, scaling, and how digital policy shapes startup growth.

Replying to @GDufault
@GDufault called it more than a year ago predicting a low-end fine of $23 billion for Meta's violation of laws protecting children's privacy (actonline.org/post/into-the-…)
BREAKING: Meta reaches a $17 billion settlement with dozens of states to resolve teen social media addiction cases. apnews.com/article/meta-tria…
If we factor in the $17 billion settlement + the tens of millions Meta has spent lobbying for their age verification scape goat solution, it is still making out ahead by several billion. (More if the fine were closer to the max $50 billion estimate)

At today’s @SenateCommerce markup, the committee moved forward a slate of bills aimed at keeping kids safe online. As this package advances, we’re urging Congress to include the bipartisan Parents Over Platforms Act (POPA).
Blanket age mandates crush small devs and compromise data. Real online safety starts with empowering parents.

With some of the fastest-growing digital economies in the world, the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region has become one of the most consequential arenas in the global digital policy debates surrounding emerging technology markets and curated online marketplaces (COMs), including digital platforms.
In ACT's latest policy brief, we analyze the state of competition policy across 11 jurisdictions. Beyond a general trend toward digital regulation, we found a region in the middle of choosing, in real time, whether it will build a digital economy on evidence or on borrowed frameworks it did not design.

A new voluntary age signal API for the Google Play store puts parents in the driver’s seat when it comes to how much of their kids’ data is shared with apps. Through the Google Family Link app, parents can decide to share their kids’ age range or not in one place. 🧵⤵️
Google brings its age-assurance technology to Android developers worldwide techcrunch.com/2026/07/29/go…
And for big developers who are required to provide different experiences for minors vs. adults, like social media, or for adults-only services, like dating apps, this new signal provides the information they need to bar kids from downloading or accessing restricted or inappropriate content.
