Breaking: #Eagles QB Jalen Hurts is out for Sunday due to a superficial blood clot.
Full statement from the #Eagles on QB Jalen Hurts:
“On Thursday, October 8th, Jalen visited the training room after practice requesting treatment for his calf. He informed the medical staff he had been cleated during the Rams game on October 4th. This was his first treatment session for the calf injury following the game, after having practiced in full both Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday, Jalen received treatment, practiced in full, and was added to the practice report.
“Out of an abundance of caution, an ultrasound was performed on Saturday following the team’s flight to London and walkthrough. The ultrasound revealed a superficial blood clot. Our medical staff and doctors in London reviewed the results and concluded that activity and mobility were important and that Jalen could safely play. Doctors recommended a follow-up ultrasound within 72 hours of the game and the return flight to Philadelphia.
“Jalen played without limitation in the game Sunday, received treatment on Monday and Tuesday, and practiced in full on Wednesday, as reflected in the practice report. Throughout our time in London and this week, we have remained in communication with the league office regarding the matter.
"On Wednesday night, a follow-up ultrasound revealed movement in the small blood clot. Jalen will be out for Sunday’s game vs. the Panthers as we determine the appropriate course of treatment. His health and safety are our highest priority.”

Not going to make any big assumptions after one week of Pass Rate Over Expectation data. But a few thoughts:
1. In first game of Mike McCarthy era, Steelers lead in PROE with a 42-year-old QB.
2. New coaching regime, and Jacoby Brissett still dropped back 39 times in an easy win.
3. Rams were among league leaders in PROE last year. Not reading too much into the Australia debacle.

it DEFINITELY matters for CJ Stroud that the Texans play their first 2 games at home + 3 of their first 4 at home
all teams tend to have better protection numbers at home...
but Stroud specifically has much a better:
pressure rate allowed
quick hit rate allowed
EPA per pressure
at home vs on the road

Pete Crow-Armstrong of the @Cubs is the first MLB player with a leadoff HR on the first pitch his team saw and a walkoff HR on the last pitch his team saw in a game since Vic Power did so for the Kansas City A's against the Orioles on May 7, 1957.

There have been over 5 million total 18-game spans by players in MLB's modern era.
In none of them did a player have as many hits, doubles, triples, homers & steals as the @Cubs' Pete Crow-Armstrong over his last 18 games:
34 hits
5 doubles
2 triples
9 home runs
6 stolen bases

Fun, educational, and delivered with an excellent sense of humor.
Matt and Vic were fantastic. Matt weaves American history, pop culture, and his love and enthusiasm of the city.

Asked Ben Johnson about the final play of the game against the 49ers and how realistic Bears RB D'Andre Swift is in the left flat.
"Yeah, I mean, with everything that was going on, I don't see that as a potential option. I think there was a little bit more chaos than what you would like in a situation like that. So, you know, I think Caleb did what he could to make chicken salad out of it, you know."
This is the issue with every ”analyst” & “writer” on twitter when they have nothing to say, they just spew nonsense and try to rage bait in order to get clicks. So much good to take away from what bears have done this year & this guy chooses to go back to Shane Waldron.
Maybe the #Bears were too impatient with Shane Waldron last year. In his first 11 games with Waldron as the Jaguars' passing game coordinator, Trevor Lawrence had a 79.4 passer rating (14 TDs, 11 INTs). In his last 4 games, Lawrence has a 120.8 passer rating (12 TDs, 0 INTs). 🤔

From the same team that decided to hold a press conference for a new stadium in Chicago (that won't be built) the day before drafting Caleb Williams, comes an open letter about looking to Indiana for a new stadium three days before the Bears' biggest game in years.

The discourse around Caleb Williams is insane man
I’m a die hard Packers fan and that dude had the greatest 2nd half I have ever seen from a QB against this defense this season.
Hes a stud, the film reflects that. There is more to it than just box scores
