Listening to this twofer by Slapp Happy a pairing of “Casablanca Moon” & “Desperate Straights”
All good stuff
Bought a long time ago from a charity shop these Miles Davis Quintet discs are great, it may have been Miles’s band but Coltrane hogs the solos (apparently he wanted his own band at the time)
Taken from a radio broadcast I believe the sound is excellent
That’s value for a £1 🤣

Drove to the Point of Ayr lighthouse in North Wales today, a breezy walk with variable skies from bright and clear to ominous looking clouds
Luckily the rain started after we got back to the car 🌧️
My 9 books I’ll never forget
So hard this bound to think of a load 2mins after I post this, fiction only, will do non fiction later
A last treat for myself as the reduced income is about to bite in the next few weeks
What a beauty, heard nothing but good things about this set
Elvis Costello “My Aim Is True” 49th Anniversary edition 🤩
Listening to John Coltrane
“A Love Supreme”
For an album I’ve had for many years I don’t know this too well, when it’s Jazz time I nearly always reach for Miles, time to have a proper go at some Coltrane I think 🤔
Listening to Bonzo Dog Band
“Let’s make up and be Friendly”
A beautifully bonkers bit of comic avant garde pop that never gets boring through all 11 tracks
First up this morning is a pre Eels Mark Everett
“A Man Called (E)”
A really good album, many hints at what was to come here
“This is why people O.D. on pills, and jump from the Golden Gate Bridge..Anything to feel weightless again”
Listening to The Handsome Family
“Through the Trees”
Listening to Dexys Midnight Runners
