In the November 2026 issue of W Korea, aespa’s NINGNING opens up about her solo track, “I Love You But I Gotta Let You Go”. W Korea: You also have a performance of your solo track, “I Love You But I Gotta Let You Go,” which you wrote and composed yourself, right? It’s about having to let go of someone you love, but the overall impression of the song is that it’s “beautiful.” Perhaps due to the string arrangements, it carries a certain soft and gentle quality. 🦋: I spent about two weeks in the U.S. this past January, and this was the first song I wrote there. Because I couldn’t adjust to the time difference, I’d spend half the time dozing off and the other half working—I only managed to finish the first verse back then. I finally completed the rest when I returned to the U.S. this past June. To be honest, when I was writing it, I was going through a phase where—how should I put it?—I had sort of lost sight of who I was. You could interpret it as a love song, but in another sense, it’s about letting go of a past version of myself—a version I truly loved, but one I now have to say goodbye to. I wrote several songs during that period and would share them with people around me from time to time; this one, in particular, really resonated with many of them. I also received a lot of feedback saying that it was the song that best captured who I was at that time.
