Learning. Building. 🐍

Some people consume technology. some people build it. I want to understand enough to be on the building side.

one thing coding teaches you quickly is being wrong isn't the problem. Refusing to investigate why you're wrong is.

AI tools are useful, but understanding what you're building is still the real advantage. prompting is a skill. knowing how to evaluate the output is an even bigger one.

you don't need to know everything before you start building. you need to know enough to start, then learn what the project demands.

everyone starts as someone who doesn't know what they're doing. the difference is who keeps going long enough to figure it out.

That “aha!” moment when something you've been struggling to understand finally clicks. Suddenly, everything makes sense and you wonder why it ever seemed so complicated. 😭

The idea of writing code today that controls a physical machine in the real world will never stop being cool to me.

Coding is 20% writing code and 80% wondering why the code you just wrote isn't working.

Every small program you build teaches you something a tutorial can't.

The gap between understanding a programming concept and actually knowing how to use it is crazy.

I'm learning Python, and one thing I'm realizing is that programming isn't just about understanding the big concepts. Sometimes the smallest details can break everything. A misplaced quote. The wrong bracket. One tiny syntax mistake. But that's part of learning.

Building in public is underrated. You don't need to be an expert to share your journey. Learn something. Build something. Share what you discover. Somewhere, someone is on the same journey as you.

Programmers, what's one piece of advice you wish someone had given you when you started coding? Not generic advice like "never give up." Something practical that would've saved you time, frustration, or unnecessary mistakes.

One thing I've learnt as a beginner programmer is you can understand the logic of a problem and still struggle to write the code correctly. Understanding the concept is one skill, translating it into working code is another. I'm starting to appreciate how much practice matters.

I realised I need to practise more instead of jumping between tutorials.
